February 17, 201511 yr If graphics is the key then money would be better spend on a gaming PC which is miles and miles better than the PS4/Xone I'm a PS4 owner and there's a lack of games for both consoles, I bought a gaming PC last year and I love how customisable games are and they look fantastic compared to the consoles.
February 18, 201511 yr Yeah, if graphics is your main aim then a high end PC is the way to go. But I don't have the time or inclination to be messing around with one anymore, I like the turn on and go consoles so it suits me much better.

The Ps4 is appealing as it's pick up and play almost instantly. The PC albeit a bit longer isn't as bad as many think (providing you have a decent spec gaming one). GTA will be fantastic on it, I loved the customisation on the last one like UK police etc.
February 18, 201511 yr PC gaming generally has better communities for the high-spec games, as it's mostly adults who can afford them. Though that being said there are plenty of twatish adults as well. But at least you rarely have to put up with kids screaming down their mics.
February 19, 201511 yr The Order 1886 reviews are in and they are mostly underwhelming. Story line is apparently great but the game play is largely a bit meh. I'm picking it up tomorrow after work and I'll blitz through it over the weekend and trade it in at the start of next week so that I can pick up Dying Light on the following Friday.
February 20, 201511 yr The Order takes just over 3 hours to complete! Really is just a graphics only game, gameplay is very limited and you can interact with hardly anything that's not to do with the story. There really is no reaosn to buy just now when it will be about half price next month due to the amount being traded in because there is no maultiplayer or replay value.
February 20, 201511 yr The Order takes just over 3 hours to complete! I've read and watched a few video game critics speaking about the game and they've said it is near impossible to complete the game that quickly. Two very reputable critics both said it took them 7-8 hours to complete. Apparently there isn't much replay incentive and the collectibles are more of a chore than decent additional content. That said, most of the things I've seen about the game say it is worth playing and so as I said earlier in this thread I'm picking it up tonight and I'll rinse it over the weekend and trade it in at the start of next week.
February 20, 201511 yr 3 hours isn't including the cut scenes which you are to watch so it would add on a few hours with that I'd imagine. I don't tend to watch those live feeds of folk gaming but did so with this as I was really excited about it since it was announced. It seemed to me to be like Heavy Rain, you didn't have much options on how you explored or engaged things. The gun play looked pretty pointless with humans but better with the monsters. A mate picked it up yesterday from G-Force in Glasgow for £50, he finished it by 11pm lol. I will offer him £20 for it and see if he takes that or chances a trade in....be warned though don't hang off too long to trade in as they are expecting plenty to be traded in for Bloodborne being released soon.
February 21, 201511 yr Opinions on AC Black Flag? Never really played AC but it looks great. The videos I've watched reminded me of Far Cry, not sure why. Also Dead Rising 3?
February 21, 201511 yr Really looking forward to playing Dying Light. Is it worth the money? Yeah I'd say so. Really enjoying it.
February 21, 201511 yr Opinions on AC Black Flag? Never really played AC but it looks great. The videos I've watched reminded me of Far Cry, not sure why. Also Dead Rising 3? Black Flag is a magnificent game.. I strongly recommend it, it was my first AC game aswell and instantly one of my favourites. Despite widespread critiscism of AC Unity I also like that aswell, great storyline but what people may not like about it is that it's not as much of an open world as Black Flag, although the combat system in Unity is much improved.
February 21, 201511 yr Dying Light looks pretty good. Better than Dead Rising 3? Don't want to get both really.
February 22, 201511 yr Finished Far Cry 4. What a game. Brilliant in so many ways. Also good that the climactical scenes were done with a crap quick time sequence. Will probably have another go on the hardest difficulty as I wasn't really challenged before I get my XB1.
February 22, 201511 yr So The Order 1886. It's by far and away the best looking game on the PS4 to date, it's beautiful to look. The storyline is quite unique and interesting, the lore of the game is great and the characters well acted. That said the pacing of the game is just weird, you'll have a cut scene, followed by you needing to walk down a corridor and then another cut scene. It's doesn't feel like you're in control enough and the quick time events feel like they are there just to randomly give you something to do rather than enhance the game. Basically wait for it to price drop, there's going to be a lot of people trading this in because there's almost no replay value. I've already sold my copy to a friend so that I've got back most of the money I paid out for it on Friday.

Dying light is pretty scary. Awesome game so far though Interesting reading your post as this game and Heavy Rain, were two reasons I was disappointed I didn't have the play station, but reading this has made me feel a bit happier about them as they don't sound as good as I had expected them to be. Re Dying Light; is it just the same as dead island because that to me was fun for a short while but got a bit samey after a while? Opinions on AC Black Flag? If there's a game you can guarantee I'll buy each year it's AC closely followed by FIFA. Edited February 22, 201511 yr by EdinburghBlue

February 22, 201511 yr Not sure exactly but I did it in three sittings, probably 7-8 hours at a guess How much did it cost? With no multiplayer or replay value that's really short for a new game out.
February 22, 201511 yr How much did it cost? With no multiplayer or replay value that's really short for a new game out. £55 day one release from Game, doubt it'll stay that high for long as I've already seen people listing their copies on eBay. It is fairly short but the production of the game is top notch, there's clearly a lot of hours gone into the making of the game. Just depends on what you feel is value for money really. Far Cry 4 has multiplayer for example but it's rubbish and adds no value to the game. The Order is a decent single player experience if not too ambitious.

Far Cry 4's multiplayer adds little, that's true, but the campaign can take a long time with plenty of side missions/quests. Plus it has the map editor so it has decent replay value. I just completed it in around 24 hours and I'm only on 60% completion or something. Nothing, even the best multiplayer, beats an amazing single player game that you can be fully immersed in and I don't think that's really possible in a few hours.
February 24, 201511 yr enjoying Dying Light so far. Still only 22% of the story done. Interesting that you can open up your campaign and let other people join in as well.
