Went for Mata for first half performance, but thought the midfield & the full backs all had really good games.

Tough one really as my stream wasn't 100% today and at times it was hard to tell which player was which!

Went for Ramires in the end. He had his usual energy.

Thought the last two subs were very strange and could have cost us the points.

Looks like I was too slow with my thread. :P

Went for Mata - he changed the game and was excellent all day. He might be the touch of attacking class that we've needed to take us to the next level. Can't wait to see more of him this season.

Went for meireles. Did well all game, kept the ball moving quickly and i think it was he who assisted sturridge, although my stream wasnt the best so i could be mistaken. Nobody stood out as a star preformer but there were good preformances from alot of them.

I honestly don't know who to pick here...most the team were solid with good moments.

I don't think anyone stood out as being the best...there were players who performed worse, but this isn't anti-MOTM

Mata was excellent today, as were Sturridge, Meireles, Ramires and Cole, but Mata edged it, he's the player we've missed for the last few years. Amazingly high hopes for the young man.

Ashley Cole for me today, top class in everything he did.

I gave it to Meireles - a great debut performance - he didn't look out of place at all in our midfield - great assist for the Studge goal, worked his ass off all game, barely gave the ball away. Honourable mentions also to Mata and Sturridge (I would throw JT in there, but he was largely at fault for the conceded goal).

The new boys are starting to give me a lot of hope for the future!

Ramires , linked play well and got himself aroiund the pitch. JT and Ash had good games without being seriously threatened by the Sunderland attack.

Ashley Cole for me today, top class in everything he did.

Was going to go for Mata but think JT in the end. He seemed to be everywhere and that goal did make me smile. Very disappointed not to have had a clean sheet out of that though

Sums it up for me, and especially good considering its his first game. He definitely made our midfield much more productive.

Considering his effectiveness, and Ramires's usual brilliance, I would love to see a midfield three including those two and Mata to give Frank a break.

HMs to the backline, especially Ash and Bossie, Ramires and Mata.

Cole, Miereles, Ramires and Mata were all superb.

Hard to pick between them, I went with Mata because he was everywhere first half, but overall I probably should've went with Cole, hmm...

mata...excellent game,as had the bosman & what a debut by meiriles, so comfortable on the ball....ramires and ash must have been on them mexican runner beans, fcuk they covered some amount of ground....JT was his usual excellence......went for Ash in the end, never stopped all game and will score this season (hopefully next week)

Nico still comes too deep tho looked good....thought nando a bit lost when he came on..maybe disinterested (and still loses the ball v easily), poss at length it took to put him on!!

hoping he comes good on Tuesday...............

A vote for Meireles since someone here called AVB an idiot for signing him.

I voted for Sturridge. Excellent assist to Terry and a talent goal.

Mata and Meireles were also really good, hard to pick. So I went for the guy involved in the goals.

Three new players and the team is transformed. Now we see the quick ball movement that Bo wants. But the problem is when these guys are hurt or rested, that style will fade way again. They need more depth.

Mata for me - looked a class apart, real quality !!

There were lots of good performances but my vote went to JT who was outstanding from start to finish. Mata would not be too far behind as he played very well and then Ashley Cole not too far behind him.

Bar Lampard and Bosingwa I thought the team played well.
