Posted November 24, 201113 yr This has surely got to be the worst transitional period of all time in the football World. How do you spend that much money and recruit that many players but still have largely the same team that played under Mourinho nearly 5 years ago. We bought a great number 10 in the summer in Mata but he is being played out of position to accomodate Lampard through the middle. What an absolute joke. This club is a mess and it doesn't look like it's changing any time soon.
November 24, 201113 yr Romeu needs to play and play a lot. Josh as well. Get the dead wood out of the midfield!
November 24, 201113 yr Lampard fails to score for three games and suddenly he's the devil's spawn again.
November 24, 201113 yr The problem is if we start playing the kids and we lose games AVB will be slaughtered for not playing the pros.
November 24, 201113 yr On lampard id ask the question, what is he offereing when he doesnt score goals... its an honest question and im not insinuating anything, id just like to know peoples oppinions
November 24, 201113 yr Author On lampard id ask the question, what is he offereing when he doesnt score goals... its an honest question and im not insinuating anything, id just like to know peoples oppinions Nothing. I genuinely forogt he was on the pitch for large periods last night.
November 24, 201113 yr Lampard fails to score for three games and suddenly he's the devil's spawn again. No-one is saying that, but many of us have said for some time now that he can't and shouldn't play every game. We all love Frank and you see him interviewed on the TV or read an article in the paper where he says he still feels he's as good as ever and needs to play games and think, yeah, what a legend, but then you see him struggle in matches and realise that talk is cheap. As much as he is a legend and we all love him, that counts for nothing when he's out on the pitch and looks a shadow of the player he was. Not every game but more often than not. Starting to remind me of watching Sheva , great player and the football brian still has it but it takes 15 seconds longer for the body to react. Frank is far to easy to close down these days hence why he is playing the ball back more than forward .
November 24, 201113 yr Part of me wished that some of our players would do that Gary Nevile did and retire but that wont happen becuase they do have a few years left in them but just not at Chelsea.
November 24, 201113 yr Author Part of me wished that some of our players would do that Gary Nevile did and retire but that wont happen becuase they do have a few years left in them but just not at Chelsea. Lampard is currently trying to negotiate a new contract. Terry talks about being the manager one day like it's a certainty. These two in particular think they run the club, they have been indugled for so long it's a disgrace.
November 24, 201113 yr Its such a glamous idea that the likes of Drogba and Lamps and JT, even Cole and Cech will play with us until they retire but we cant afford to allow that to happen unless they want a part time role. We need to shake the old team up and move out the likes of Malouda, Kalou and Mikel, these kind of players who have got by with not much effort. We need to bring in players who have the hunger to win. I have read that we have lost that never say die attitude and i agree that thats the case with these players. For far too long these players have just turned up knowing they will be in the team and not really improved. Ship them (and others out) and bring players in who are ready to fight. People slag off Luiz but he fights and gives everything right to the end. Today on twitter he has appoligised for the performance last night. It wasnt even his fault, we was winning until he went off but yet he still comes out and says sorry to the fans.
November 24, 201113 yr I'm a huge Lampard fan & think he plays well for 60mins in most games, but a friend of mine was working behind the Liverpool team when we played them & apparantly Clarkey kept on telling his players to get in Terry & Lampard's face siting their slowness as a reason. I agree, we are still heavily reliant on players who were peaking when we first won the league.
November 24, 201113 yr Nothing. I genuinely forogt he was on the pitch for large periods last night. Incorrect he gifts the ball to the opposition a lot these days. But he should be playing off the bench now... Like all too often our managers are swayed by the press.. Edited November 24, 201113 yr by smileysmiles
November 24, 201113 yr Good lord it didn't take long did it? Frank is the scapegoat again. You want to know what he provides? Have a relook at the game and note the two best through balls we played. One where Drogba was offside and got in Sturridge's way and another for Drogba. Who played those I wonder? Also Epic, indulging Lampard and Terry? Are you serious? They're only two of the best players to have ever worn the jersey, some people would call it loyalty. Also where would we have been so far if Lampard hadn't indulged us by leading the goal scoring and assist count? Lampard stays because he can actually involve himself in the creating and scoring of goals, the bit where the game is decided. Edited November 24, 201113 yr by Spiller86
November 24, 201113 yr I love avb and want him to do well but the whole of the chelsea world on every site is ssying the same thing. Get rid of the old guard now, play youth against wolves and see what happens. Were is romeu , josh , torres , bertand they havent had a sniff im beggining to think john terry still runs that dressing room.i love king terry But its time to go i somehow wish the race row gets him a ban because it will be the only way hell be dropped. I like luiz bit rash at times but he 100% plays for the shirt,
November 24, 201113 yr Lampard fails to score for three games and suddenly he's the devil's spawn again. Funny but that's actually the opposite of why some of us question Lampard's return to starting every game now. It's not about his scoring. Where's the transition when AVB asks for 180 minutes from DD, Lampard and Terry in 4 days? They're not exactly spring chickens anymore. Where's the transition he starts 7 players from Mourinho's team? Where's the transition when he does both those things and ends up with zero points anyway?

These two in particular think they run the club, they have been indugled for so long it's a disgrace. Really ? Talking sh*t about lampard and terry when they were so good , i real dont admire fans like you , its partly the only reason they call us a plastic team with plastic fans and other superficial sh*t They dont deserve to play as much as they are getting , but dissing them doesnt really help. When they play well , all is well and good , everyone appreciates them , When they play horrible , suddenly you want them out of the club for good ? Please dont talk like you know sh*t , its still possible for a recovery , and ask much as youd like kids to start , its pretty obvious that the team has to have a perfect mix of experience and youth , i agree with you when you say lampard and terry shouldnt be playing week in and week out at their ages But dissing them along with their future is no way of treating the issue We're lucky to have players like them , JT , Droggie , Super Frank , live on forever
November 25, 201113 yr Isn't every season transitional Not at Liverpool, Thery are still trying to win the league.
November 25, 201113 yr Barca didn't come this good over night. We are changing the system to more Barca/current-ManU-type. If you have watched the games you see. High backline which means we need to press opposing players aggressively when we are without the ball and this has to come from every single player. That is what we have lacked of late and that is why we are conceding stupid goals. Most of our guys are still only comfortable with the JM mould. In this transition we need the young guys in who are fresh and willing to take new ideas, even wild ones. I bet JT, Lamps and Drogba for example are thinking "Not sure if that is going to work" listening to AVB. That is already ruining it for us as those are our key players. We have great players like Sturridge, Mata and Luiz who are more open minded as they have not seen the 5 last Chelsea managers and their style. Torres in his "slump" is probably willing to do everything to get himself back to scoresheet. Give some time to Josh, Romeu and Bertrand. Bench JT, Lampard, Cole and Drogba and let them watch if they can learn from the youth. This is just my idea but I see the old ones are in the way of progress at this very moment. When they are willing to learn get them back into the game. I'm not saying it should be as drastic as I suggest but I'd try that.
November 25, 201113 yr losing two home matches in a row is very embarassing, especially becuase of the money we've spent. maybe we should sell terry to city for £50m, and sell torres back to lolerpool for £50m and spend the £100m building a new stadium. NOT nine elms though, earls court is the closest possible site without turning into a joke club. sorry but its the truth

Do you really think we could sell Tery to City for £50M now? Or Torres back to Liverpool for £50M? Or build a 60,000 capacity state of the art stadium for £100M for that matter??
