Posted January 9, 201213 yr Just seen that Kalou has apparently flown back from Dubai to hold talks with Arsenal over a move this month. If the rumours of him demanding 90k a week are true, then I hope he goes. He is a super-sub but wants a first team role which is something he won't get.
January 9, 201213 yr Someone said somewhere else, if we are to sign a better replacement I don't mind. He's been a good pro for us, but never going to be anything more than a sub.

Or maybe its just complete BS (seeing as though Arsenal, the Ivory Coast national team, Kalou`s agent etc have all said its rubbish) and you are beating the club up for something that hasnt happened yet.

He chose to go to Arsenal, maybe he didnt want to go anywhere else. I dont think anyone really knows the story behind that.

I remember hearing a lot of noise about the Yossi loan being necessary to fulfill the homegrown/club trained youth rule? I think it was when Mata was coming in? As for Kalou to Arsenal - I flipping hope not. Kalou, for all his shortcomings has been a consummate professional for our club - has ridden the bench a lot, has popped in a few important goals, and definitely isn't as crap as some people make him out to be. If I were the lad, I'd get away as well - there's just nothing he can do to please his detractors. Sure hope we keep him though. Try finding a replacement of his position that is professional enough to sit on the bench week after week waiting to get his chance to help out the team that is half as good.

Its just infuriating seeing such talent with not the greatest footballing brain. He is 26 years old now and the first team role dosent look like it is going to happen so maybe it is best for all involved to part ways at this juncture on good terms. When we first signed him i thought he was going to be an absolute world beater and maybe Jose wasnt the best manager for him to develop his attacking ability. It is a shame though as he seems a very popular individual in the dressing room. Really hope he dosent go to arsenal as hate seeing ex blues playing for one of our main london rivals and who knows wenger might just have it in him to focus his mind and get some consistent performances out of him. Would be nice if he went to one of the new super rich clubs like PSG, Anzhi or Malaga

January 10, 201213 yr he would be a bench warmer at arsenal aswel...wenger has settled with the gervinho r.v.p walcott attacking trio.Even then henry is back and oxlade chamberlain is fighting for a place also. By the way chamberlain in my opinion already better than walcott he has a big future I wonder if we were ever interested,unbelievable prospect

January 10, 201213 yr Its a done deal by all accounts (old cliche - mate of a mate a Cameroon lad over here knows Kalou well and got it from the horses mouth), just a question of how much the fee the club would get now vs Kalou walking for nowt in the summer. Ive seen 3 mill squid touted in the hack press, I would hate to see him go over now and score any goals whatsoever that help them beat Chelsea to 4th spot, Yossi has already headed them 2 extra points.
January 10, 201213 yr I'll be sad to see Kalou goes, if it happens. I'll be even sadder to see him go to Arsenal. I'd have liked to see something like this out of our front 6: Ramires--Lampard--Mata Sturridge--Torres--Kalou Especially against weaker teams who are going to park the bus against us. We don't really need a defensive mid in those situations, and inserting Kalou at LW gives opponents one more speedy weapon to worry about, while allowing Mata to slide in towards the center where he's more dangerous
January 10, 201213 yr I have no problem with Kalou being a bench player at Chelsea if he is comfortable with that. I certainly wouldn't sell the closest thing we have to a right winger before we've got a replacement.
January 10, 201213 yr Salomon has been a great player for us from the bench, but he hasn't lived up to his potential and isn't a first team player. His contract runs out in the summer, and he's demanding 90k a week so we should take the £3m. It would be a shame and I feel he may turn out to be a good player for Arsenal
