De Browne is a bit off from the correct pronunciation. It's a bit like someone with a heavy Scottish accent would say "down", and the last e is prnounced "uh".

He certainly stood out in that friendly.  He has qualities which remind me of both Lampard and Mata.  I think Mata may have some competition for set pieces now too, because KDB can certainly take a corner/free kick.  I'm allowing myself to be excited so early because he got such great reviews in Germany.  Dortmund wanted him to replace Gotze for goodness sake.  I think it's safe to assume he can do it against Stoke.

The lad is quality, last season for Bremen he showed that. The only player who wasn't from Bayern or Dortmund that made the team of season. I can see Oscar loosing his place to Kevin. I think its great competition for everyone though seeing as its a world cup year as well. 

Yes and Mou believes in him !  I think KDB will(eventually) take most set pieces and corners.

I totally agree. I watched all his matches past season and i am telling everyone the kid is special !! .  He is football and eats and drinks it. Mentally very strong as well.

 it is pronounced the same as Dirk Kuyt but without the K and T off course. Maybe this helps you.

Again, I can only reiterate how happy I am to have KDB on our team.  Interesting thing to me in that video is two fold:  He said AVB hadn't spoken with him, and then he said that he wasn't sure where his best position on the pitch was.

 

I think it's amazing that Jose has not only talked with KDB to assure him that he is part of the team, but he certainly seems to be part of the first team plans.  I wonder if, during this pre season, we will see KDB play as part of the attacking trio and as part of the deeper lying midfielders?

Dont be hasty with the "i want to see him up against some real talent and see how he copes then". He needs time and confidence in the blue shirt and if it comes by whipping a bunch of thai league players, I wouldn't mind one bit.

No, you're being a bit hasty in "wanting to see him up against some real talent" especially when he's part of a new setup, new team and a new coach. First he has to find his position and role in this team.

I know it is too early to tell, but are opinions on him that he will give us the edge against the top teams in the league and Europe, or is he a great player to have in the squad for rotations when our stars get tired? or is he somewhere in the middle at the moment?

Glad that initial reports seem to suggest it's not as bad as it first seemed.  I was watching on a stream earlier and went from yelling "you beauty" to "not another injury on a f**king pre season game!"

 

But if he's walking about and doing so unaided, I think he should be ok.  Maybe rest him for the next couple of games.

 

I think his passing and vision are great, and I also think we'll see more of the team playing like the second goal, where Lukaku muscles defenders out the way for teh attacking mids to come onto.

Its been some time since I felt we have got a real gem on our hands for little money. I may be jumping the gun but here but he just seems so intelligent for a young player he will surely only get better. I'm delighted that nonsense about loaning him or selling him came to nothing.
