It was fairly clear we needed a striker this summer and what we ended up with was a 32 year old clearly lacking match fitness and well of the pace of Premier League football, it was underwhelming to say the least.

 

Meanwhile £25-30m is invested in the one position we were already overstocked in, it just doesn't make sense.

Willian is different to the other attackers we have and hasnt done too badly since joining. Eto'o was looking great before he got injured. I think you guys are being too harsh.

Willian was a stupid signing and I wish we hadn't bought him. I wouldn't blame KDB at all if he left. He's too good to be sitting on the bench or in the stands week after week.

Willian is a better player than KDB imo. He offers more to the team as a whole than KDB does. If he leaves then its not going to be a big deal.

How would you know? KBD has only played about 2 games for us... He was great last year in the German league. I thought he was good against Hlul opening day. And since then he's just disappeared. We didn't need yet another £30m attacking midfielder, and I can't see what Willian offers us that our other options don't. Sure he chases the ball alot, but so does Torres and Torres is sh*t. He's basically the same as what we already have - cuts inside and passes sideways/backwards most of the time, rarely running at players and attacking them directly. At least KDB is a different sort of player and is more versatile as he can play CM as well.

I really like the look of De Bruyne, he's young and raw but already quite experienced with his National team and for me a future great.

 

It's difficult here with the pressures that come for players playing for Chelsea and the Manager managing which make it a tough team to break into, Shurrle now has staked a big claim, Hazard is almost undroppable, Oscar superb and Mata playing well although I'm still not sure if Jose see's his defensive side to be up to starting in front of a fit Oscar, all that and still we have Willian who has a great engine and some good touches, shows a bit of vision with his passes but needs to work on his finishing still getting games ahead of Kevin.

 

I can't blame the manager for his limited game time but really hope if he go's its just a loan deal as I have high hopes for him

I would play KDB in CM alongside Ramires for 3-4 games and see how he gets on. I think he will do very well, he has a great range of passing.,

I half expected Jose to give him some minutes there in the Southampton game, I thought he'd bring Lamps off around 65 minutes but Frank was playing well and I think that kept him on the sidelines again, he hasn't been that lucky when he has been on the bench as games have either been a bear pit like the Stoke game where the game was so on the edge it would have been a difficult one to bring him on in or like the Saints one where the options where all playing well.

 

I hope we see him tomorrow night but if we do I'm not sure where he'll be playing.

I agree with you about the Torres remark. No one can work that one out.

But it was the same for Ashley Cole. Didnt play well and was out of the team.

Thats a poor attitude to have for a young player,every player reacts different to different situations and everyone can see he has alot of talent.Look at Ramsey last season Arsenal fans were booing him now hes one of the best players in the premier league this season.

Exactly, it seemed that earlier in the season Jose was stating that what KDB was showing in practice was not enough to displace anyone in the team, currently.  

 

However, he (jose) said that he now has a dilemma because KDB is showing enough to warrant a place in the team.  Sounds as if KDB may have turned his attitude to practice (wasn't he sent to the U21's at one point this season?) around, and is now up for selection?  I fear it may be too little too late, but I too am surprised that he hasn't been played in the middle alongside either Ramires or Mikel as his appearances in the CM role in the Bundesliga last season certainly showed me enough to think he could be tried there.

I wouldnt be shocked if he went on loan in Jan and then handed in a transfer request in the summer.

I do feel bad for him as he joined us when we only had Mata really. He finally joined up with us this summer and we are over loaded with AM's. So much so we have had to loan some out. In the space of 2 seasons we have gone from having one or two to having 7 or 8. Its far too many. The squad is totally unbalanced.

We shouldn't send him on loan, either he has a future with us or he doesn't.

 

If he wants to leave we should just cash in on him and move on because frankly having attacking midfielders stockpiled throughout Europe is just stupid when the eldest of those at the club with now is only 26 so it's not like we're expecting anyone to retire or experience a dip in performance due to age. 

 

 

If KDB wants to go, sell him and let's do the same with Marin and Moses whilst we're at it and use the kitty to put towards a central midfielder and/or a forward. 

If we send him on loan and has a decent half season and then goes to the world cup and plays well there his price will rise a lot more than what it would if we sold him in January.
