Kevin De Bruyne

Good player but unless Jose plans to sell mata, he can go. We can use him as bait for more needed players. It's sad to see good players leave but the youngsters we are buying and moving on are making us good money at the end of the day.

I think given a chance, a decent run of games he would have proved his worth ... Can't see that happening and probably will prove to be the odd man out ... Real shame ...

We will regret this, like we did with Sturridge. He's a talented player, with a lot of years ahead of him.

I'm still puzzled how exactly he has come from starting on the first day of the season to being frozen out full stop

Seemingly, Jose wasn't 100% impressed with De Bruyne's attitude in training.  At one time, KDB even had him train with the reserves.

Based on what I've seen of him, and his loan spell last season, I'm surprised that KDB hasn't been tried back in the CM role.  However, even the national team coach for Belgium is comparing him with all the AM's we have.

The different difference is that sturridge was So obviously the Best striker at the club... you couldn't make the same case for KDB

KDB looks like a very promising young player who could do with a loan spell to bring out the best in him.I wouldnt sell as i think he can become a star eventually. It isnt always easy for youngsters at top clubs but he has the ability. As for Willian he will prove to be an excellent signing imo.

The whole training with the reserves is a non story. He wasn't in tge champions league squad, so rather than him have a couple of days off, he trained with the reserves, along with some other first teamers. It was standard practice completely blown up by the baying media.

We'd be regretting letting guys like Schurrle, Willian or Mata go...so if someone has to go..

KDB is very talented but he's had half a season to force his way into the first 11. The fact that he's hardly has a look in tells its own story.

We are seriously over subscribed in the AM role and with the need for a more 'dynamic' CDM/DM or a world class CF becoming more and more obvious (and taking FFP into account) he is potentially £12-15m worth of leverage in a deal for a much needed player.

Would be sad to see him go as I personally thought he would really add something to our team but if Jose doesn't see it then so be it...

With De Bruyne it is a case of 'too many cooks' - he is unfortunate to be at the club when there are so many players, each of which more established, vying for the same spot(s) in the team.

He really doesn't have a future at the club because despite obvious potential he is not going to get a chance to develop.  A loan move is one option but I see that as a little pointless as he is still going to return to find excessive competition for places. It would be in his, and the club's, interest to negotiate a permanent move and allow the lad's career to progress.  Whether that be in January or the summer remains to be seen however whenever it is I wish him well. I don't think he did anything wrong and deserves a chance at another club.

i think we should loan KDB out again. he's still young, its possible that the fierce competition and big step up have overwhelmed him slightly, and may have stripped his confidence. it might be best if he goes elsewhere for 6 months/a season to get regular football and build his confidence back up, and when he returns he will know exactly what he is up against in terms of competing for a starting role.

lets just give him time to clear his head, reset and try again to prove himself. young players learn from mistakes, and im sure he will mature in time to be a quality player

^ can't see a way back for him & he is at the age where he needs to be playing regularly. Best for both parties to sell him and I hope we are smart enough to insert a buy back clause.

I don't know if loaning him out is going to improve the situation.  He may go out and play well for his new club but when he comes back the midfielders he was competing with would all have improved further and he'd be in the same situation.

Wasn't Dortmund interested in him?  I would offer them £15-20 million plus De Bruyne for Gundogan.  Both similar ages but we get a player for a position we desperately need rather than one we have too many of.  A bit off topic and probably just dreaming but I think this kid is the best young DM in the world at the moment and better for the future of the club than the De Rossi's and Xavi Alonso's we've been linked with.  DM is a position we've not spent big on since Makelele.

He would be in the same situation when he came back, but he would be expecting the situation and be prepared for it, while bringing some fresh confidence with him. It must be hard when you come back, and schurrle has just signed, then wilian gets signed, and you see just how good mata, hazard and oscar are... i imagine it was a bit of a shock to him just how much he was up against, and probably caught him like a rabbit in the headlights. flair players need confidence to perform. they have to take risks with their decision making, and have to have the confidence to demand the ball off some of the best players in the world. it cant be easy for a young man, and i think he just needs to go away, build up that confidence and come back to try again

Surplus to requirements. We have 5 awesome players ahead of him, all of whom are going to get even better, especially Oscar. Also Schürrle will be strong next season and Willian will be a badass too. We all know Hazard is a monster. We need a CM and a striker next season, so we should use De Bruyne to help secure what we need.

Inserting a buy back clause will just lower the price we get for him as the purchasing club will be assuming the risk of giving him up if we exercise the clause .

Risk goes up for them then price goes down. Basic economics .

It is a risk that the club will have to weigh up and if they cannot tolerate it then they could use a buy back clause which will be looked upon unfavorably by the purchaser .

No such thing as a free lunch my friends

Agree with the buy back clause. Would rather get £15m for him now then £10m with a buy back clause inserted. We only paid £6.7m for him so we'd be making a profit and lets face it, clubs like Barca, etc sell highly talented young players all the time for a profit. Why shouldn't we? We are well covered in the area and we need reinforcements elsewhere.

So it's pretty well set in stone now that KDB'll be sold in this upcoming window? A right shame we never gave him more chances in that case, even in CM as Amputechture says.

It would be stupid to sell him now in any case, if we were going to sell him I would loan him out until summer and see how he does in the world cup. Could double his value easily with a good world cup.
