Kevin De Bruyne

Featured Replies

But he hasnt proven anything really. I think 18 is a decent price. Im actually surprised that anyone is willing to pay it.

We payed what, 7mill for him, 8mill for Courtios and 17mill (including add ons) for Lukaku.

Based on their loans alone if we do sell Kevin for 18mill, we would easily be able to ask for over 20mill for Courtios and probably 25mill or so for Lukaku. Is a good way for making money if the players do not make it here end of the day.

"He has a chance to go," Chelsea boss Mourinho said. "We had two bids from two different clubs for Kevin. That's what the club is analysing. (A fee is) not agreed, but I believe that between our club and the other club we will reach an agreement. The interest is big from the club, even bigger from the player.

"He is a player that Chelsea Football Club had a couple of proposals (for). We keep analysing these proposals. One of them is coming into a level where we believe can be a good situation for the player and also for the club."

Mourinho has stated his wish to keep De Bruyne, but the player's desire is so strong that he will be allowed to leave. Mourinho said: "We know he's a fantastic young player with lots of potential. I still say I would be happy to keep him and develop him.

"We also have to analyse the player's profile, the player's personality and probably he wants so much to go that maybe it's a good option to let him go in a very good deal for the club, by a financial point of view.

"The club bought him a couple of years ago for a small fee and now we have a possibility to sell him for a positive amount."

Mourinho does not plan to reinvest the funds, should a move for De Bruyne be completed. "We don't need a direct replacement," Mourinho said. "The reason why we are open the door to negotiate is because it's a position where we have options. We have options, so it's not the case of a options where you sell somebody."

Good as gone then by the sounds of and maybe me reading too much into but Jose's line about not needing a "direct replacement" hints at us maybe signing for another position in the team rather than an attacking midfielder.

Seeing as he said "100%" we won't be signing a striker you would assume it would be a central midfielder considering the continuous links with Gaurin and Matic.

Well that pretty much confirms his exit then, i'll be interested to see how he does over in Germany, I have a funny feeling this won't be the last time we see him at SB (our old players always seem to come back and play us in Europe).

Just glad we aren't selling him to f**king Liverpool.

It's unfortunate we're selling him, he'll could easily end up being a break-out star in the world cup--could be the reason initial loan is being spoken of, in case his value increases other than for FFP.

Oscar, Hazard, and Schürrle could have big moments in Brazil. Luiz might steal the show though

Does make no sense to sell him now rather than after the World Cup when his regular appearances for Belgium are likely to increase his value considerably.

I only hope if we sell him now we include a buy back/sell on clause.

If he stays with us he wont even go to the World Cup

He would barely play though

Hed be behind Hazard, Mirallas and Januzaj

Did I miss somthing? did Januzaj decide he was going to play for belgium then?

This is what im hoping for too and there have been reports in some newspapers that Chelsea want the buyback option.

Januzaj hasn't even been picked for Belgium yet,i thought he was going to play for Albania?.KDB was been there best player in the world cup qualifiers.I dont think Belgium have enough talent not to pick KDB,Chadli is likely to get into the squad, KDB is much better.

£11m is pretty good profit for a player who signed two years ago and barely played for the club. If for FFP's sake this sale allows us to strengthen our central midfield this window (for example, Nemanja Matic) then it's a great bit of business in my view.

I wish KDB all the best.

Buy back and sell on clauses are for small clubs to make profit on losing their talents. We are better than that.

Why would anyone agree to a buyback anyway.

Not the selling club

Why would the buying club agree to it. Buy a player and if he becomes valuable you already agreed to lose him for way less than his worth.

Unless I'm missing how prices are evaluated in buy back situations.

In a buyback you would sell for more than you bought him for,i know there is talk Utd have done it a few times with Ravel Morrison and they had it in when they sold Rossi to Villareal.
