Kevin De Bruyne

Club just made a 50 mill pound loss, KDB & a few of these young lads are gonna have to be flogged to improve the balance sheet, maybe Mata as well....

It was never going to be the £30m Willian or newly signed Schurrle. He was really the first in line to stay behind. Jose and this Chelsea team wasn't his place. Not everyone makes it. Great prospect and sad to see him leave but it is best for him. I guess Kakuta takes his place now in the team.

Now that's Funny!!

Well not sure if it is funny. DeBruyne is leaving for not playing and we've just recalled Kakuta, who plays the same spot. Isn't it all the same if the player who is not playing is named Kakuta instead of DeBruyne. Same result. I have no idea why we took Kakuta back...

My guess is to try and sell him before his contract expires, basically Kakuta is dead wood to us now and it does us more favours having Toure on loan at a club we know he will get playing time at than Kakuta.

Is there a limit of how many players we can loan to one club?

KDB isnt getting into the team and neither will Kakuta so no need to worry about it really. Kakuta will just make up a bit of squad space.

I think its right that we are thinning the pack of Attacking midfielders a bit. We have far too many on our books. We need 5, maybe 6 at the most but if you count the ones we have out on loan we have nearly double that. It is down to poor management of the squad. Jose cant be blamed for that as he only joined in the summer. The fault lays at the feet of the board and who is in charge of bringing in players.

ForeverCarefree - agree with you but it annoys me that we will only get so little. Surely selling him 12/18 months ago when i believe it was obvious he wasn't going to make the grade with us would of allowed us to recoup at least twice that amount? Vitesse obviously like him, maybe we'll flog him to them on the cheap as part of our partnership with them.

Probably end up at a Ligue 1 club tbh.   :indifferent0018:

De Bruyne looked the real deal in pre-season was so excited to see him playing in the Premier League but for whatever reason he's just not looked upto it. Really hope we sell him with some sort of sell on fee involved (we'd be laughing now if we'd done the same with Matic!)

As for Kakuta I'd like to see him leave with some sort of sell on clause, these players we let go often have a habit of selling on afterwards for a reasonable chunk of cash.

Don't think the decision to let De Bruyne go is the wrong one

Actually, I don't see why we don't just give Kakuta one last chance. I mean, we aren't going to get anything worthwhile from him if we sell him. I would like to see him play against Derby instead of KDB who should be long gone by then.

What's the worse that can happen? He plays well in Jose's style and we keep him for a bit, he doesn't and he's put on a decent enough showing so we have more suitors willing to buy him.

I always thought he was too lightweight for the PL but with our history of chop and change management he could have just been a casualty of immediate success rather than long term gain. I'd love to see Mata, KDB & Kakuta play some part in the Derby match but unlikely to happen.

He has a great chance under Jose. Just run your arse off, defend and do anything he says and you have a chance to revive your career. Look at Willian. On his way to World Cup. Admittedly Kakuta has a long way to that but I hope we didn't go through all that sh*t for him just to give up.

I would rather not see KDB at the Derby game, it would be a waste of everybody's time. Jose clearly doesn't fancy him for whatever reason and KDB wants to leave, what would be the point in playing him? I'm surprised a deal wasn't wrapped up as soon as it turned the 1 of Jan so he could leave as soon as possible and start playing again.

His place in the team could be better used to give our youngsters like RLC, etc a go or perhaps better yet to give Kakuta a run out under Jose.

im sure kakuta' contract expires in 2015. He came out and said he wanted a transfer about 3 moonths ago, so I think he will have been recalled to sell him. I think we would do very well to get 5m out of him, and a sell on clause would be ideal.

If we cant use kdb in a deal involving a top drawer player like pogba, gundogan etc. Then we should hold out for either 25m, or 15m with a buy back clause.

I think the one of issues with the sturridge transfer was the fact we we didn't sell him in the summer for 20m+, and the was no buy back clause inserted.

Kdb is still a top prospect with 3 and a half years left on his contract.

Why recall him just to sell him? Surely we wouldnt need to do that.

Maybe Jose wants to take a closer look at him before moving him on in the summer.

I personally believe it is to cover the spot of KDB who will be leaving.

I dont think many teams will pay us more than a couple of million AND a sell on clause.

We wouldn't want kakuta to be playing while we are trying to sell him in case he gets injured, so it makes perfect sense to recall him.

I would love to see him get a few cameos but he hasn't played for our first team for years, and he only has 18 months on his contract. Having already expressed his desire to move permanently, I cant see anything other than a kakuta sale this month.

We actually got a same similar fee for bruma, so I don't think a 2/3m deal with a 10% sell on clause would be totally out of the question.

I hope we recover enough to cover our own cost on the player.

If KDB couldn't even get on the bench, Kakuta stands absolutely no chance. He's nowhere near as good.

Of course I can't help but feel if we'd paid £20-30m for De Bruyne like we did with Willian, he would have played a lot more.

As its been pointed out before, KDB cant get on the bench so we dont need to worry about Kakuta getting a spot.

Also regarding your point about money, as its been said before we all need to get use to this. Buying young players on the cheap then selling for a profit will become a lot more common. It all goes towards the profit we need to make with the new rules in place.

Its easy money really.
