April 26, 201214 yr whats happening with cahill? any news on his injury? it would be a big blow if we cant field both him and luiz come 19th The way he's saying it, he'll play no matter what
April 27, 201214 yr -----------------------------Cech Bosingwa--------Luiz-------------Cahill-----------Cole -----------------------------Mikel ------------------Lampard--------Essien Mata------------------------------------------------Kalou -----------------------------Drogba Would have this except Torres in instead of Kalou.
April 27, 201214 yr Still got so much love for Mourinho, how he conducted himself in the ITV post-match interview was great. Reporter: "will you be blue in Munich?" Mourinho: "always blue" As for a starting XI, losing Ramires and Ivanovic are the biggest blows (excluding Terry), just hope if Luiz is better, he plays well. Cech Bosingwa, Luiz, Cahill, Cole Mikel, Lampard, Essien Mata, Drogba, Sturridge But RDM would need to address the importance of tracking back to every player. HUGE game for Cahill too, hopefully he'll step up like he's been doing since January.

April 27, 201214 yr Not sure if it's been mentioned here but apparently the players union are trying to get the suspensions overturned, so that all the players who got suspended because too many yellow cards can play in the final. Terry is not one of them since he got a red. Even if it would mean Bayern having Badstuber and the rest I would not mind seeing Ivanovic and Ramires play. Maybe even Meireles. I doubt they will overturn this, but one can always hope.
April 27, 201214 yr Yeah Uefa will not let that happen. Bayerns attack looks pretty awesome, they will likely have Muller in midfield due to the suspensions, so him, BS, Kroos, Robben and Ribery supporting the goal happy Gomez. Best attack we will face all season imo. The backline looks like it can be got at, but will we be creative enough and as clinical as we were against Barca? Edited April 27, 201214 yr by axman2526
April 27, 201214 yr Ya UEFA said there was no way that would happen this time but would be something they would look at in the future.
April 27, 201214 yr Getting excited about this game. I'm like a kid in the build up to Christmas at times Edited April 27, 201214 yr by erskblue
April 27, 201214 yr -----------------------------Cech Bosingwa--------Luiz-------------Cahill-----------Cole -----------------------------Mikel ------------------Lampard--------Essien Mata------------------------------------------------Kalou -----------------------------Drogba There is an argument for playing Torres instead of Kalou to give us the speed that Ramires normally does. But at the end of the day RDM will only play one out and out striker.
April 27, 201214 yr Straight forward team selection if you ask me. Cech, Bosingwa, Cahill, Luiz, Cole, Mikel, Essien, Lampard, Mata, Kalou, Drogba. 4-3-3 with Essien and Mikel sitting in behind Lampard and pushing out to help the fullbacks with Robben and Ribery. Kalou to track Lahm. Drogba to be a beast and Chelsea to win. Edited April 27, 201214 yr by Spiller86
April 27, 201214 yr Would be nice with an epic Tifo before the game, hopefully the club arranges something - pretty sure the germans will.
April 27, 201214 yr Apart fro the Barca games we have been playing 4-2-3-1 pretty consistently. That lets the two wide players in the 3 to drop back and help the full backs and also frees Mata to play behind the striker. It worked pretty well against Spurs and I see quite a few similarities between them and Bayern. Two speedy wide players, a clever player on the ball behind a big striker. My team would be Cech Bosingwa Cahill Luiz Cole Lampard Mikel Torres Mata Kalou Drogba
April 28, 201214 yr Greetings all! this is my first post here on the shed but I have been to the shed back when there were terraces in the good old bad old days I was on the CSR years ago and then was too busy to get back until now and under a different name a few years back. I have been checking this site this season and enjoy so many posts and the beautiful sharing that goes on here but what a amazing time it has been from the FA semi final until now this year! Rock on! I am still buzzing from the most amazing champs league semi ever! My voice is still hoarse from the cheer when torres rounded the keeper. I believe we are so hungry to win this that nothing can stop us Carefree all!
April 28, 201214 yr If this is true we are screwed for the final...: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/apr/27/gary-cahill-injury-champions-league
April 28, 201214 yr I can't even begin to think about losing this one; it's the last chance for our old guard to win the European trophy.
April 28, 201214 yr I think that a midfield of Essien-Mikel-Lampard would be too pedestrian. We need to take advantage of the fact that they are missing Gustavo by dominating the midfield and having Mata playing between the lines. My lineup would be: ----------Cech Bos-Cahill-Luiz-Cole ----Mikel--Lampard Kalou-Mata-Sturridge -------Drogba Kalou/Sturridge swapping based on which side Lahm is on (for Kalou to track). Due to lack of Alaba, we can afford having Sturridge on the wing. I also don't get why everyone has suddenly turned against him. Yes, he's not been in great form but he's so talented and could really have a huge impact on this game (and would feel that he has something to prove on this stage) - I hope he has a great run of form in these next few weeks.

Toni Kroos will drop back, Thomas Müller will slot in behind Gomez. After today we only have one league game left, away at Köln next weekend. Like today we can play a B-Team as we are second in the league whatever happens. You lads have 4 games left and still need points, whether or not that is a disadvantage or not who knows ? Like you we also have a domestic cup final. Today we beat Stuttgart 2-0 (Gomez, Müller), only three of the team from the Madrid game started. Anyway I hope you don't mind me posting on your forum, looking forward to some pre-match banter. Anyone coming over for the game needing any info just ask. Tickets here are like gold dust, the demand is incredible.

Things certainly look in your favour, home advantage, and rested players, whilst your opposition have to keep playing important games week in week out, they are also without their captian and leader. But you know what, we like spoiling a party us Chelsea.

Things certainly look in your favour, home advantage, and rested players, whilst your opposition have to keep playing important games week in week out, they are also without their captian and leader. But you know what, we like spoiling a party us Chelsea. Cheers. Well we have a few missing too, that's about even. Terry of course got a straight red but the opinion over here is that we would be happy for an amnesty for the 3 booked players from each side, that is probably too sensible for uefa though ! Of course we have the game at our ground but that was decided ages ago, we aren't complaining but it wasn't our decision. As to your last sentence we are well aware of that. Unlike Barcelona (or Madrid against us), we won't just think we need to turn up to win. Listening to our players and management being interviewed the last couple of days there is no chance of that. Bayern know that anyone reaching a CL final needs to be respected, our players know they need to play well to win. We won't be underestimating Chelsea.
April 28, 201214 yr Off topic but whats your thoughts on Marko Marin ? I've been asked this elsewhere today already ! Decent player but I reckon you have bought him as a squad player tbh, he is good but not great.
