What do you expect him to say, papers come out with utter shi*. He probably just stated that he wanted to help Arsenal finish as high as possible. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion, he may feel more part of them than he ever did at Chels.

tbf, he's always come over as a bit of a mug, even when he was at Wham. I didn't like the way he celebrated when they beat us at ours either. They can keep him, we can do much much better.

To be fair, these loanees are in a difficult position. They are sent away from Chelsea to play for a "foreign" team. They bond with the players of that team. They bond with the manager of that team. What are they supposed to do? Keep themselves in isolation?

It may well be that what he said has been grossly exaggerated. But it is unreasonable to expect him in an interview to say "I hope the team I currently play for loses."

Agreed, however IF what the Mirror has quoted is true it's pretty disrespectful to say you 'don't care' about the club who initially pay your wages!

I think the Mirror has taken what he's said completely out of context and will give Yossi the benefit of the doubt!

I agree, but he's still better than Kalou, Malouda and Sturridge as a winger.

Ozzie you speak a lot of sense, the players you mentioned are toilet add lukaku and mereles to that and bosingwa. Lol

I never understood why we signed Benayoun in the first place, I've never liked the c*nt. Whether he made these comments or not, the sooner he leaves Chelsea the better as far as I'm concerned.

Agree with Stevo, he is basically saying I want to help Arsenal finish 3rd, and do the best he can for them until his loan ends.

The mistake was letting him go there in the first place. Did he really refuse a move to Fulham or something? I guess the real mistake was buying him at all, because I dont think he will ever play another game for us.

Do we really know that? He had seven games here and then went out injured last year. And just about everyone looks better when they play for Arsenal.

I don't really see anything wrong in what he said. Doesn't really matter what team he belongs to, at the moment he's an Arsenal player and he does his best to help his current team. Like any player should do.

What a monumentally massive f**kup this whole Benayoun situation has been - arguably turned out to be an even worse transfer than Joe Cole did for the dippers...

Nah sturridge was our second best player for the first half of the season. Absolutely magic at times

Kalou's been alright recently to be fair as well

Agree, Sturridge has been getting a lot more stick than he should be. He hasn't been playing so it's no wonder he's dropped in form whenever he has played! He was brilliant in the first half and all he needs to learn is when to cross/pass at the right time instead of trying to go all the way, then we'll have a real player on our books!

Sturridge is mirroring what Ronaldo was like when he first went to United, not saying Studge will turn out as good as that but the lad is only 22 and has the potential to be one of England's best players. KEEP HIM!

As for Kalou, well he's been a different player under Robbie! I still cringe whenever he gets the ball and runs with it (or tries to) but he tracks back and suits the system we're playing perfectly. That pass to Torres against QPR was amazing, never seen him do anything that accurate before!

Agreed. Not much point in saying f**k Arsenal I want Chelsea to do well, when you were shafted out of there after 5 minutes, and have no guarantee to go back.

I personally put this down as another part of the 'AVB: What the f**k were you thinking?' list. He was arguably our best player on the pre-season tour and then he was gone. He was just the sort of player who could have complemented and also replaced Mata when needed. He hasn't set the world on fire at Arsenal, but if we were really looking to trim wages, there were plenty of better candidates to leave

I wouldn't have the slightest issue if he came back in the summer, particularly if we miss the top four and new recruits are hard to come by.

Never wanted him in the first place. Don't rate him at all and it was just more money to the scousers for their cast offs.

Posted

Yeah let's all just blame AVB. Yossi isn't good enough to wear the Chelsea shirt. I'd rather Kalou played any day. Yossi is a disrespectful rat. I hope he never puts on our shirt again.

He probably feels he's been f**ked over by CFC anyway and had he not been loaned might have been an asset to us over the stretch of the season. He was always going to be a bit player for AVB but lets be fair AVB made some awful loan decisions especially with Josh which was a total waste of talent and hasn't done anything more for his career than had he had stayed with us. Let's hope all the loaned players come back and so the new manager can sort the wheat out from the chaf...including Yossi and where he fits in.....although I suspect he might ask for a perm move to North London or overseas..

What a load of tosh 'u no it makes sense'.

I will blame AVB. The list of mistakes he made at this club is enormous. If we miss the top four the blame will rest largely on him. This is just another one of those mistakes.

Yossi's contribution at Liverpool was exactly what we could have done with. The guy had a bad injury (that was misdiagnosed by our medical staff) and spent virtually the whole year out.

He was then one of our best-players on the pre-season tour, when the squad was apparently being 'assessed'. He was then pawned off to whoever would have him.

Hardly his fault.

Unfortunately I have to agree. Benayoun was just one more of the senior players badly treated by Andre Villas Boas. My understanding is that he (Benayoun) was told by Villas-Boas that there was no place for him at Stamford Bridge. Alex and Anelka as we know, were pretty much forced out. According to some very creditable sources, Villas-Boas had already decided that this was to be Petr Cech's last season with the club.

And you wonder why the players had so little faith in his managerial skills?
