June 27, 20206 yr Two of our loanees Josh Grant and Richard Nartey both released by Chelsea. Good luck to them both!
June 27, 20206 yr Can We Sell Matt Miazga, The Guy Seems Like An Absolute Joke, His Sending Off Was Just Mad

Pretty sure we signed him to resonate with some of the US fans, but now that we have Pulisic he literally has no use to us at all! On another note, Brazilian Nathan has officially signed to Athletico Minero for about 3m. Another one of those random signings for a player that was never really going to play for us. http://sportwitness.co.uk/club-announce-deal-chelsea-blues-making-e3m-midfielders-sale/
August 18, 20205 yr Chalobah gone to Lorient and Ike Ugbo to Cercle Brugge. Wonder how these loans affect the quota?
August 21, 20205 yr Broja is all aboard the Vitesse train! Lets hope he gets game time and smashes it
September 9, 20205 yr Great loan debut for Tariq Uwakwe, for Accrington Stanley of League One in the EFL Trophy against Leeds U-21s. Scored a hat-trick and had two assists in a 7-0 victory ! Good lad 🙂
September 10, 20205 yr Clarke-Salter not included in the squad numbers announcement today, so I guess he's going out on loan again.

I thought he did well enough on loan last year to get a squad spot as 4th centre back, especially being left footed, plus the low bar set by the incumbents last season, plus he looked decent in the friendly vs Brighton. Obviously not though 🙂

Would rather just sell with a buyback clause, just in case he suddenly turns world class
September 21, 20205 yr Luke McCormick gone on loan to Bristol Rovers for the season. They're my local club - any thoughts on how he might do in League One?
September 21, 20205 yr Always inconsistent at youth level I thought, could have a very good game one week and disappear the next. On his day a leader with a keen eye for goal, still a decent prospect. 2 hours ago, In the Net said: Luke McCormick gone on loan to Bristol Rovers for the season. September 21, 20205 yr Broja off the mark, first of many I reckon, stark contrast between him and Brown which is a shame given how good he looked just a year ago. Pleased Ugbo is scoring more frequently.

Struggled on loan at Shrewsbury in the same league last year and got sent back without making an impression
September 23, 20205 yr It is going to be interesting to see what happens over the next year of so with regards to the players on loan. Starting next season we can only loan out 8 players maximum according to new FIFA rules. According to the club website we have 19 on loan currently and that doesn't include a lot of the more experienced players like Drinkwater, Moses, Baka, PIazon etc. who appear to have new future at the club.

Yeah I have no idea how we're going to trim down the squad this much. I suspect there's going to be a load of people who are out on contract at the end of the season and they are just going to get released. Also AFAIK i think we can loan out u20 players without there being a limit, but anyone over that age we are limited to 8. Quite a few of the players we have out on loan atm are just youth players but the rest will look like they have to go.

If we can't sell anyone, then we could have 30+ players going out on loan this season, so that would be quite a lot of trimming to do to cut back to 8 for 2021/22. The web site is not quite up-to-date by my reckoning. It shows Sarr in the Loan section, but no actual club that he has been loaned to, but on the flip side the list doesnt include Piazon, who is still shown as "First Team" but with no squad number, and is in any case already on loan at Rio Ave. So still 12 players to sort out in one way or another : Sarr, Bakayoko, Rahman, Moses, Drinkwater, Van Ginkel, Miazga, Musonda, Clarke-Salter, McEachran, Castillo and Sterling. Plus anyone else in the U23s who might benefit from a loan ... Anjorin and Maatsen being the ones that spring to mind. Of the potential 31 on loan, 6 have contracts that end after this season: Moses, Van Ginkel, Blackman, Pantic, Izzy Brown, Charlie Brown. So with 8 allowed on loan, and assuming those 6 all leave, then we'd have 25 odd players in the frame for the permitted loan spots, or 17 too many 🙂

November 30, 20205 yr Fabulous praise from Bilic for Conor Gallagher. Quote is from here : https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2020/nov/30/premier-league-10-talking-points-from-the-weekends-action Quote Classy Gallagher is exceeding expectations Slaven Bilic knew he was getting a good player when he persuaded Chelsea to let Conor Gallagher go to West Brom on loan. But he did not know exactly how good the midfielder is. His quality has become clearer this season and he highlighted it by scoring his first goal against Sheffield United to give West Brom their first league win. “I expected him to be full of energy, enthusiasm and motivation… but for a 20-year-old guy to be that reliable and have the game management to make proper decisions and to basically be so consistent is not normal,” said Bilic. “He is doing all the dirty work and managing the game but then he’s got quality as well and that, for a young boy, is not usual. I’ve seen it before with great players and he reminds me of them.”
December 13, 20205 yr Luke McCormick scored his first league goal for Bristol Rovers yesterday, and also an assist in a 3-0 win. He seems to be thriving under the new manager. Thread on their forum comparing McCormick with Charlie Colkett, who was on loan there a few seasons ago. Thread contains an interview with McCormick, he comes across very well - old head on young shoulders. Luke MCormick v Charlie Colkett
December 14, 20205 yr Guehi looked pretty good this weekend. Very physical and stopped a number of scoring chances. He plays with a little bit of an edge which is not a bad trait to have as a defender.
