New signing to play up front with Torres

Featured Replies

i can't decide who's better too play up front with Torres next season, here's all the rumors signing we're gonna make

Goals and appearance from last season in all competitions

1)Edison Cavani, Club: Napoli(Seria A) 33 goals from 47 appearances

2)Hulk, Club: Fc Porto(Primeira Liga) 21 goals from 38 appearances

3)Radamel Falcao, Club:Atletico Madrid(La Liga) 36 goals from 50 appearances

4)Demba Ba, Club:Newcastle United(Premier League) 16 goals from 36 appearances

5)Gonzalo Higuain, Club:Real Madrid(La Liga) 26 goals from 54 appearances

6)Salomon Rondon, Club:Malaga(La Liga) 11 goals from 40 appearances

7)Stevan Joveticc, Club:Fiorentina(La Liga) 14 goals from 27 appearances

8)Moussa Dembele, Club:Fulham(Premier League) 2 goals from 45 appearances

9)Hatem Ben Arfa, Club:Newcastle United(Premier League) 6 goals from 30 appearances

10)Victor Moses, Club:Wigan(Premier League) 6 goals from 38 appearances

11)Axel Witsel, Club:Benfica((Primeira Liga) 5 goals from 48 appearances

12)Theo Walcott, Club:Arsenal(Premier League) 11 goals from 46 appearances

who's your choice?

Considering RDM looks set to be running only one striker, not sure what to say here... Haven't given it any thought really... Higuain would be my pick to come to Chelsea but we have a better time signing Neymar than Jose letting Higuain come to us...

Moses seems the most likely to come. Don't think hulk will be at the bridge next season and ba's clause only ran for a certain amount of time, and im pretty sure it's past it now. Cavani, Falcao and higuain are almost definitely not coming either along with the rest of that list im afraid. Moses fills 2 gaps for us.

He fills the right wing, while also proving cover for the other attacking positions, both upfront, LW and cam. Seems a good signing to me with him being 2 footed.

Imo we do need another player that can score goals.. I dont think Moses is that player.. What if Torres doesnt score? Then we aint scoring alot.. Thats why Hulk is a quality buy, he can help scoring goals!

Then loan out Lukaku, the guy is nowhere near as good he needs to be to play for Chelsea atm.

FYI we only play with one striker. 4-4-2 is dead, buried and forgotten.

Not necessarily. There will be games when we will be chasing a goal and I would not be surprised if Robbie threw in another striker then and changed the 4-2-3-1 to a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3.

We're ok as long as Torres and Sturridge both stay fit, as Moos said we'lll probably play with one striker most of the time but will need to change things on occasion. If (or when) one of them gets injured then we lose that flexibility. If both get injured then we're f**ked.

By the way, I'm assuming that Lukaku will be out on loan again, and even if he's not I'm not convinced he's quite up to leading the line for the first team just yet.

@Peckham Blue it was midnight when i posted this so i was really tired

I've done it myself mate, gotta get the post count up somehow, I'm tired of bench warming.

Which is of course why Manchester United have won the majority of Premier League titles since Mourinho first popularised 4-3-3 in England. Even 'Captain 4-3-3' Wenger's best teams have included both Bergkamp and Henry in the same team.

The principles of pass and move stand strong no matter what Michael Cox or Jonathon Wilson might suggest.

Amongst out and out strikers, I'd only be interested in Rondon from that list and only if the price is reasonable.

My preference is a player like Hulk or Jovetic who can play striker but would primarily be used in a different position.

15-20M is too much for a 3rd choice, would also block sturridge's and lukaku's development. Also, for the striker position, even with just 1 place you want 2 back-up's as you do with keepers, and theres more chance a striker gets injured then a keeper.

Moses is the most likely and a perfect fit tbh.Hulk's overpriced and I can't see it happening. Moses can cover the Striker position far as I know? Also young and in keeping with our current transfer policy.

We could buy another striker to cover for him (still detable), doubt we wil get 1 to partner him.

We don't needa partner tbh, just a plan c, if one of them gets injured and the other gets fatigued.

My first choice from that list would be Falcao and that is quite simply never going to happen . I would also take Demba Ba , we could get him on the cheap with that clause in his contract.

I honestly feel Cavani would suck in the Prem , scoring plenty of goals in Serie A means nothing to me these days.

Hulk is who we are after though and if we were to get him and a new RB then i would be very confident going into the new season.

I know there have been rumours about us bidding on some strikers but do we need another striker warming our bench? Especially a super-high-profile man..

We have Sturridge already. If we buy a new CF what happens to him then? 4-3-3 is where he can be on the right but what then if we play Robbie's 4-2-3-1. He would be a midfielder and that role demands lot more.

I'd say lets get ourselves the RW/RM man and forget this. Let Danny fight for minutes against Torres.

Especially those Cavani rumours I find odd. Why get a player who scored 3 times(?) more than Torres last season when we have spent 50mill on Nando? Doesn't make sense to me. Especially now when Torres won the golden boot and we have bought players to support his style.

I'd trust Danny.

I agree we don't need a big name but we undoubtedly need one more. If either Danny or torres is injured, who comes on as sub. People saying two is enough are being very short-sighted

We could just not loan out Lukaku. That feels a bit of a risk as he is very young but buying a higher profile striker than Sturridge could mean his end in our squad. And I we feel we haven't seen the half of his skill yet. Maybe if we find a player who can play on the wing and centrally like Schurrle...Can he play on the right side?

Think he's left wing. I'd love hulk, but I'm sure we're getting Moses.
