I don't disagree with any of that barak, but he did play well in a superb team display. Yet this fella says he was dire, which he blatantly wasn't. Some people's hatred of him is almost pathological and they just can't give him any credit for anything.

Guess it's tough because what people want is what we paid 50 million for.. it's been clear for some time that, that player no longer exists. Should he still be at the club. Probably not. is that his fault? not really, we can hardly expect him to follow the way of the samari and fall on his sowrd.

Some time's his performances our terrible and he just looks dejected and uninterested. When he came on yesterday I feared the worst and actually was pleasantly surprised by his all-round play. For me when he plays goals are just a bonus now.

Come next season I don't expect him to be with us any longer. I'm hoping for Eto', Lukaku, and one other  to come in (guessing it's a done deal)

In the mean time a Torres winner up at anfieled would go some way to repaying that transfer fee

Exactly my feelings mate, everyone knows he's nowhere near the player he was and when he's poor he's really poor. But I will back him because he can still affect games and contribute until the day he leaves.

PS if Eto'o isn't available I would be looking to play forward line like this..

Willian/Salah.... Oscar.... Hazard

.....................Shurle..............

Plenty of interchanging, 4/5 of them are all very comfortable in frount of goal and all are very good ont he ball... defences wouldn't know who to pick up

Remembering him winning the corner off the bench in Munich, I agree with you.

I don't hate him, I just don't think he's very good.

As I said, he puts himself about but his attitude to the rest of the team is awful.

Plus.....he doesn't know how to score any more, whereas old man Eto does.

Not being able to score is a bit of a handicap for a centre forward.

What is a stand out pointer to Torres value to us as a player are the give him credit type posts in this thread, he had (measured by his performances to date here) a fairly good game yesterday in that he worked hard, he looked desperate to score (although against ten men with us hugely on top he still didn't) and he contributed well to some attacks while chasing the ball when we didn't have possession.

In itself that certainly isn't anything to complain about even though had he came on and had one of his many lesser performances we would still have come out worthy winners yesterday but that isn't what we need from a main striker here and doesn't make up for the games where he gos missing and effectively leaves us looking like a team playing with ten men.

I've been almost convinced four or five times here over the years that his form was on the up, early in the season there was a run of games where I thought he was our best option as his work rate and physical presence looked to me like it gave us more than we get from the other options...to be honest usually after a short run of being first choice I have wondered what I must have been thinking and now for me the most improved forward we have is Eto'o and I think he is by far the better option.

I would gladly have Eto'o here next season and think if we buy a big name and bring back Lukaku, Eto'o and Lukaku will be fighting for the chance to play second fiddle to the top man, from what I've seen of Lukaku (promising) I would think he and Eto'o will compete well for that spot.

Back to Torres, he plays his part and when he looks like he wants it it's hard to knock him and I can understand people jumping to his defense...he is a Chelsea player after all, the problem is that there are many games where he seems to hide away, to not make runs that even though he's having a bad day at least draw defenders away from our other players and on those days he deserves all the stick he gets, those days just stick in some peoples minds more than others.

Utter pish.

How is his attitude to the rest of the team awful?

He skinned their defence yesterday and put on on a plate for Oscar but aye his attitude stink.

Seriously just admit you detest him then your posts will not look as ridiculous.

He's not a good striker anymore, he should 100% leave the club so we can get an actual striker in that's a given. However when he does do some good he deserves the credit like yesterday just as much as he deserves the abuse when he's utter crap like against Villa.

his attitude is poor because of his gestures to the rest of the team yesterday, throwing his arms around like a petulant child.

Forget what you see on the telly, watch him when he hasn't got the ball, he's like the incredible sulk.

The thing is, he NEVER gets abuse from the fans, we all give him every encouragement, but we know what we see

These days I judge him game by game, yesterday he played well, last week he didn't.

I don't expect him to become consistently brilliant, I just take him for what he is, an average player that has the odd good game.

like most I hope he's gone next season, but wouldn't be surprised if he's still here.

Next season if he is still here he should be Malouded

Too much of a distraction keeping him in the first team, let him train with the reserves

Rubbish. He cannot help his demeanour. Loads of footballers do that - look at Sturridge for instance.

He contributed well at times yesterday and was quick to celebrate the goals with others. Just think some folk will look for anything to criticise.

That's one of the worst ideas I have ever heard.

Aye lets out put of our biggest earners into the youth team just because he's not the Torres of 4/5 years ago....

He's never been a joyful looking fella has Torres. He was the same at Liverpool, always complaining and looking meh but he was scoring so it didn't matter. When the goals dry up like his time here people say "ah he doesn't care and is uninterested" which is a pile of crap and very short sighted unless these people never watched him before he came here.

IF he didn't care or was lazy then why would the greatest manager in world football pick him in his squads? He must be putting in a hell of a lot more effort in training ect than the likes of Ba.

Because it's Torres though certain people like to blow it out of proportion and blame everything bad at Chelsea on the whipping boy. It will be someone else when Torres finally leaves and I pray to god our next big money striker hits the ground running or the usual suspects will no doubt create another cringe filled thread like this one.

It's a stupid idea, all it will Do is shatter any remaining confidence of the player, diminish his value and more than likely puss his teammates off too.

Yes I'm sure the next big money striker will take a few seasons to score 19 goals in the Premier League - you're having a laugh really.

Seriously if we sign a striker and he doesn't manage at least double digits in the League by his second season - it's fair go to create a thread like this one.

But don't worry - since I very much doubt any big money striker will "perform" to a level similar to Fernando - he is very special in terms of goal scoring and I doubt anyone would have though he would be this much trouble before we signed him.

If he doesn't want leave and we have a new big money striker and Lukaku there is simply no place in the squad for him.

Exactly while paying a fortune for nothing ( I realise people will say we do this already but again that's not true).

In any case I doubt Torres would sit and be happy not playing, he will leave at the end of the season I'm sure anyway.

He's not been the player we required but that's as much the clubs fault as his own, at least he's helped win trophies and been part of it. It's been an expensive flop but one that has helped deliver certain things which make the deal not a total waste.

I for one will dance in the street when this thread is archive material.

This is all just ramble because you don't like him.

Putting a big wage player in the reserves is idiotic and it was idiotic when we done it with Malouda too. I hate supporters like you who just want to destroy certain players because of a dislike you have towards them.

Aye f**k it lets stick every player who isnt delivering into the reserves because we can, f**k our reputation and our morale...it will be a great advert for future signing who we are recruiting to see that someone who is struggling will just be treated like dirt.

Idiot

If Torres is still here after the summer it would mean that he wasn't willing to take a pay cut to play regularly - I personally doubt that he would stay knowing that next season he would get even less playing time than this season.

If he does indeed stay I don't see the point of him in the squad, I'd be more happy with Bamford getting the odd game rather than him.

Edited by Las7

Aye so you are in the know and part of the board who know what contract 'cut' offers are made.

My mistake.

Btw what's the lotto numbers for midweek?

Aye so you are in the know and part of the board who know what contract 'cut' offers are made.

I know our manager doesn't rate him; I know our manager will sign a striker in the summer

3 17 22 26 31 32

I suppose that's why he plays him then, that makes perfect sense.

Are you trying to be thick or is this a troll attempt?
