The Mail seem to think Franks off

Featured Replies

I wonder if Christina will like the news

Do they just make these things up to show how thick they think the public are?

Frank Lampard will sensationally quit Chelsea in the January transfer window and join Chinese side Guizhou, according to reports.

The 34-year-old midfielder will be out of contract at Stamford Bridge next summer and has repeatedly been linked with a move away.

His club have told him he will only be offered 12-month extension but Lampard could be set to turn that down in favour of a lucrative move to China.

I read something saying the chairman of a club has announced it! Makes no sense to me that you would get rid of a winner with such experience.

China....nah can't see it in a month of Sunday's ...MLS maybe but in the summer, can't see him leaving January. I always wonder though when rumours such as this appear that the club doesn't say something to dismiss the article......unless it's true?

One either goes with "rumors" and "DONE DEALS!" in papers from Journalists hoping to make a name for themselves or one goes with the fact that Lampard has been spotted at LA Galaxy games and has been talking to both Beckham and the chairman of LA Galaxy repeatedly.

He won't go to China, he'll still want to go up against some good players (Donovan, Henry, Beckham), and I just think that MLS suits him better.

He's either going in January or in the summer, I'm more inclined to believe the latter but make no mistake this will be his last season at Chelsea.

As for who slots in for him, Mikel & Ramires already have those spots more-or-less covered and I cannot remember when we get Eden's brother back from his loan but he's another option.

You know what ? i'm not reading that. I cannot be f**ked with the bullsh*t anymore.

Reading it? I can not even see it. :blush2:

Would make no sense for him to leave. He gets a massive loyalty bonus if he sees out his contract here (£5 million I believe) plus I can't see him wanting to go to China when he is due to marry Bleakly. I doubt he would leave his kids here either. What a stupid stupid story.

The reason why I don't believe it is because he simply wouldn't leave his kids. Forget us, Christine & his old man- we're all secondary (fair enough!).

I'm shocked people find it so hard that he might leave...he is free to sign a pre-contract abroad come January and we are offering him a one year extension which I highly doubt is even close to what he is currently on! Like didier I wouldn't blame him for going elsewhere for a final pay day...he has been a brilliant servant to the club over the years

I fully expect Frank to finish the season with us and then move on, be that to China or the MLS I don't know.

However, I doubt he'd "quit" right now when he is still part of this club and so close to becoming our all time goal scorer.

I also think that a summer move to the MLS is more likely. I think the China thing has come about becuase Anelka and Drogba went there. I just cant see Lamps following suit.

BBC (via China Daily) are saying that a move to Guizhou Renhe will be happening in January with a club official quoted. Unless Chelsea deny it today, looks like it's happening.

Sad to see a legend go but I can't blame him for wanting first team football, he gets to be a superstar in China.

I just dont see it, his kids are over here, his misses kinda has steady work over here. Unless he is going to cut himself off from all of that i cant see it. Also if he went in January they would have to pay a fee.

China seems far fetched for Frank.

I don't see the point of him leaving in Jan either unless his wages need to be saved to bring in a striker but then we would need a CM to cover for his departure too.

We need one anyway.

We need one anyway.

Agreed but we wont get one imo if someone does not move on.

Frank will be on wages in the region of above £100 k a week so losing him would give us money to play with.

China? MLS? What about a club like PSG? Carlo loves him, possibly reunion with Cole if he signs with them this summer, and he would probably do very good in France. And as some mentioned already, France is a lot closer to London than southern China or Los Angeles..

PSG may sound far fetched but it wouldn't shock me if they nicked Lampard away from the stronger rumored candidates...

To be honest, if true, I think this would be a good move for Frank.

After all,he has nothing to prove anymore & we are talking about serious amounts of moolah, something that will help his family's future.

I don't think that his style of play, the role he's performed for the club in the past, really suits his best talents (& the clubs) requirements, in today's team.

Seen many players over the years with a greater natural skill level, others with more lung busting ability & some who have a more natural goalscoring 'gift'.

Haven't seen any that combine all of the above as well as he has.

Chelsea's highest award winning domestic & International player ever, would go to China with my heartfelt thanks & best wishes.

Has this been reported anywhere reputable? I could see him maybe returning to West Ham or going to the States but not until the summer, and not dragging his family has way around the world to communist China.
