Cole and Lamps on their way out?

Featured Replies

Looks like a sad time for us as Lamps and Ashley look like they will leave in the summer, transition period has to take place but Cole still has a lot to offer the club as well as Lamps in certain games, silly if you ask me letting them go.

Bertrand clearly isn't ready yet to step into Ash's shoes, and i still don't think there is a left back in the world that can compare to him.

As much as i love Lamps, we can live without him, although we're certainly going to have to buy a replacement, because right now our midfield is a shambles, seeing the way Juve and Shakhtar just passed the ball around as if our CM's weren't even there.

It may be true that Frank Lampard in particular is no longer the force he once was, but Ashley Cole can still do a job for us. The Home Grown Rule also needs to be taken into consideration. Releasing two more English players at the same time may leave us just a little short in this respect, even more so given the possibility that Sturridge may also be on his way out.

f**k off Benitez, there was no need to announce that to the whole world. Only been here 2 seconds and he's already questioned our medical team, reckons he's sussed out our problems in the first training sessions and released personal contract negotiation information about two of our best players to the press.

Absolute c**t. I hate him so much, why can't he just f**k off back to Liverpool.

Above post is a bit mental....

We knew they were going, Ash is the real loss as we don't have another world class LB at the club and that worries me.

That's not the point- whilst most of us appreciate this will be their last season with us iit's not for a much hated interim tw@t to spout it on his second day 'in charge'.

Have to say it is very unorthodox for Benitez to come out with the news if they are true and he is actually wuoted.

But looking at our midfield it is very hard to fit Frank in there. Cole has lost a yard or two as he has said himself. Against Juve he was absolutely awful to be honest.

Both big players butnI can see them voth leave after the season, Frank especially.

Stephane Henchoz seemed to think it would be on the cards,

"For me it's very interesting to see how he's going to deal with the likes of John Terry, Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole.

"He will go with a strong mind, that's his style. There will be a few clashes and I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to get rid of Frank Lampard, for example, in January or even Ashley Cole pretty soon.

"And let's see with John Terry."

Lampard maybe but he's still class. Look at Giggs & Scholes still doing it

Cole would walk into any top team and is irreplaceable right now

Reckon it's payback from Roman for last season with AVB for Frank and lets face it Coley has brought it upon himself with sexting, air guns, tweeting etc. I'm sure if JTs contract was up they'd bin him as well, they are Ruthless bar stewards after all and need wage bill trimmed to pay for all the management sackings

so the Fat one has dinner with the king and comes back with this..........C##T !

Not directed as you Chippy, but to the FSW... I have one thing to say on that ^^^ :

F*CK OFF!!!!!!!!!! IT'S NOT YOUR SQUAD TO DESTROY!!!!!!

Drop JT? Let Frank/Ash leave? What next? Mata off on a free, Hazard stuck at CB, Oscar loaned and Ramires benched?!?!?!

Starting to feel very 'agent Benitez' with comments like above. I know it's only the opinion of Henchoz but I feel so deflated at the moment coz it doesn't seem that farfetched. I'll never boo my team, stop supporting them or want them to lose... but I certainly feel like I'm falling out of love with the game as a whole, the top league anyway. Refs, this, the media... all bloody against us and I'm sick of it, thing is we don't even help ourselves.

When it's cold outside, I got the month of May... 19th of May to be exact.

Thats "my Girl" the Bees won't be envying us though

So with the chance of Lamps getting let go in January here are my thoughts.

Lamps is a legend , without question one of the best attacking midfielders I've ever seen play for us. He obviously keeps himself well , looks after himself and still feels he can do it at a top club. So naturally enough if he is not getting game time it's reasonable to expect him to explore other avenues. I think after the service he's given the club he deserves that.

Why then do I feel like something very wrong is going on ?

I'm not suggesting Lamps is our best midfielder at the minute , but he still has got something to offer IMO. Maybe I'm paranoid but he is (to me anyway) taking the piss with these kind of cryptic interviews "oh Lampard is training well , he knows the position" along with the other clowns by letting him go.

Maybe Lamps wants to go , to be quite honest with these c**ts in charge I wouldn't blame him. It just bothers me that a Chelsea legend is seemingly (again to me) pushed out the door while that c**t is presiding over the team. Its all wrong.

I dont think either will go in January, if they did i would be very shocked.

I think Frank will go to Monaco with Raneri and i think Cole will go somewhere like PSG or another english team.

I think Cole has a year or two left in him and I would like to see him stay, but 'Cashley' would probably be tempted by the riches on offer elsewhere from a final big-money move. I'm sure his agent would also be keen and doing all he can to force a move!

I wouldn't like to see Frank go - I wish he'd stay as a player-coach instead and just fill in when needed. But he is on the decline now and his best years are behind him. If he does decide to move then I just hope it's not to any Premiership club.

If either of them go then we need to make sure that we replace them like-for-like with established, proven players.
