If we are getting rid of Lukaku then Jose is not as "Special" as his nickname makes him out to be.

Recently, several shelves were added at Stamford Bridge for Jose to utilize.

Seems almost enevitable that he's off. If he does though, I think we need another forward. I'd really like him to stay, how many other 21 year olds have scored over 30 premium goals.

I'm more than open to Lukaku being given a shot but if he doesn't want to stay and fight for a place in our team what does that say about him or our team.

Jose has said he wanted him to stay last season but it was Lukaku decision to leave on loan with the world cup on the horizon. That can't be said of this season. He had a good last season but a shocking World Cup which he should take as a indication that he's not the finished article he believes himself to be, yet.

If he wants to play week in week out then I'm happy to say goodbye. If he wants to contribute to our team whilst improving himself in the process then good on him. I admit it must be difficult as all he wants to do is play but we are an elite club team who can afford the best players in the world, he should be happy he's got a shot to wear the shirt and play for the best club manager in the world.

Lukaku scored more Premier League goals last year than Torres has scored in three and a half years at Chelsea. If he moves on in this window, we will certainly need a new striker because Costa, Torres & Drogba will simply not provide enough firepower to seriously challenge on multiple fronts.

If a 20 year old player who is homegrown, club grown for the CL, has scored at every level and every club he has been at, scoring more league goals than Messi, Aguero, Rooney at the same age, scoring more than your three strikers from the previous season combined (for a weaker team) become available for less than Joleon lescott, James Milner, Ashley Young, Darren Bent or Adam Lallana you would turn your nose up at him? Well put. It's really sickening, two of our strikers are well past their prime and over 30 and our other striker is new to the league, if we get rid of Lukaku, a guy who has only scored 32 league goals in 66 PL appearances, then Jose will once again be complaining about his strikers not being able to score enough goals. And once again we will be wondering why we got rid of Sturridge and Lukaku and more and more people on this site will be complaining and wondering how in the hell we were stupid enough to do that twice.

If we sell Lukaku in this window and go into the season with Costa, Drogba & Torres and they do not perform well or score enough goals then Mourinho will have no right to complain that his strikers aren't good enough. F**k if we sell him for 20+ million we should at least try to get Remy now that he isn't going to the dippers

If lukaku is to actually leave on a permanent basis then I would like to see either Bony or Remy brought in. These are strikers who are proven in the PL. In striker terms Bony is a lot more like Drogba in his younger years then Lukaku who needs open spaces to play to his strengths a lot like Torres.

Whilst we certainly need another striker if he leaves, for me that has to be someone who is either one of the best in the world, or could be. Remy is not what we'd need, ive not seen enough of Bony to judge though, id also prefer to save our cash and wait for the right player to become available rather than just buy another stop gap. Even if that does mean only having Torres and Drogba as back up this year.

The simple question is...that if Lukaku is a good or great as a number of fans believe right now and as good as what he thinks he is...why isn't on the first team sheet? and please don't drivel about its because Torres is here, because Jose' would drop him or sell him and replace him with Lukaku if he was better, he did it with players in Madrid, he did it here with Ashley so big names being dropped doesn't worry Jose'.  I guess we will see when he returns to the squad, whether or not he will behind Costa in the pecking order, until then everything is pure speculation on everyones part.
