March 9, 201412 yr . Even Cristiano Ronaldo didn't adapt so quickly but there is still a very long way to go (and still a large gulf in class between Eden and Ronaldo) I don't think there is to be honest. I'm not saying he is Ronaldo's equal but not a massive gulf between the two. Different kind of player as well but Ronaldo is certainly way more productive. It's similar to comparing Iniesta to Ronaldo and it really boils down to the type of player you appreciate.
March 9, 201412 yr Everytime he steps up to take a penalty I have a minor heart attack at how blase he looks, yet he always puts it in. I think i'd take a good old Frank smash any day.

I am in the same camp. I also always think "He will smash it in this time so he confuses the keeper". Nope, never happens lol!
March 9, 201412 yr And yet the keeper never dives the right way. The reason for that is Hazard waits until the keeper makes a move and then puts the ball to the opposite side, its quite the skill. Mario Balotelli comes to mind, anyone else does this?
March 9, 201412 yr f**king internationals. Every single time. My apologies for the random quote, but you are a fantastic poster on the Bluemoon forum Castiel. I was recently banned there for standing up for Jose. My username was "Hazard17". I just lurk there and Redcafe now reading other forums opinions on our team. I love your posts whenever I have the chance to read them. Cheers!
March 9, 201412 yr Yeh he's only missed one penalty for us which was against FC Nordsjaeand when we went on to hammer them. Don't think he missed one at Lille but could be wrong . It's much easier on the heart watching Lamps hit them but Eden continues to put them in which is what counts . His watch and hit technique is obviously something he's worked hard at and it definitely shows .
March 9, 201412 yr Mario Balotelli comes to mind, anyone else does this? Mendieta used to be the king of this technique. It felt like it was a sure goal every time he stepped up, sending the keeper the wrong way every time.
March 9, 201412 yr David Luiz's peno in CL final gave me a heart attack . 50 metre run up If you listen closely, you can hear Gary Neville 'Tsk'. As if he knew he was going to blaze it over.
March 9, 201412 yr David Luiz's peno in CL final gave me a heart attack . 50 metre run up And Drogba with his one step run up. No seriously Didier, take a proper run up.
March 9, 201412 yr In the 6-1 or 4-0? I really don't remember it. 6-1 he missed one then we got another and Luiz scored i believe.
March 9, 201412 yr Oh yeah I vaguely remember now. Hardly a stellar night in CFC history. I think it is rightfully at the back of my mind
March 10, 201412 yr Everytime he steps up to take a penalty I have a minor heart attack at how blase he looks, yet he always puts it in. I think i'd take a good old Frank smash any day. When you think our regular penalty takers in the past have been Frank LeBoeuf, Hassellbaink and Lampard, as Chelsea fans we are used to seeing them get smashed in rather than placed... Hazard obviously knows what he is doing but it does make me nervous.
March 10, 201412 yr I admire his coolness, but he'll get caught out someday with that casual pass into the net. I like a low 'bang it in the corner' penalty myself.
March 10, 201412 yr I like a top corner thump myself, I think Ballack took a couple like that for us... So hard for the keeper to get to them when they are in the top corner.
March 10, 201412 yr If Hazard wasn't on the pitch (very unlikely!) who would take our penalties for us, do you reckon? Assuming that Lampard isn't playing either.

March 10, 201412 yr Luiz if he were on the field. I believe Oscar and Torres have both taken penalties for us before too. I'd guess that Schurrle probably takes a good penalty too. If none of Lamps/Hazard/Luiz/Oscar/Torres/Schurrle were on the field i'd be wondering who we were playing to warrant so much rotation, but Ba and Eto'o have both taken pens at previous clubs too. Ash took one in Munich too so he might be up there. Edited March 10, 201412 yr by Jonty
March 10, 201412 yr Eto'o maybe? Oscar? One of those two would have been my guess. On current form I'd prefer Eto'o to Oscar. Hazard's penalties, as many have mentioned, gives me a heart attack too. But he's so damn confident!

March 10, 201412 yr David Luiz knows how to take a penalty under pressure, ones against bayern were almost unstoppable. Having said that I remember a poor one vs Genk, an odd thing to boast but I think we're now one of the strongest teams in the world for penalties, the only player I could see missing is the striker playing.
