Certainly not but he would maybe make 70-80 mil after a good season in today's market.

I think you're both vastly under appreciating how highly valued Eden is in world football.

70-80mil for Hazard is under appreciating his value? I would be more than happy with 60m considering how inconsistent he is for Belgium and Chelsea and the fact that he is at his peak now at 25. He is not a young player with potential anymore. He is a finished product.

The only clubs he would ideally want to go to, can neither afford him, nor have the space for him (unless he doesn't mind sitting on the bench), those teams would be RM, Barca, Bayern.

The only other clubs who he would consider, and who could afford and have space for him in the first team, would be the likes of PSG, Manyoo, Citeh.

Would we sell for a World record to another English club ? It's possible but I don't see him wanting to go to Manyoo with Jose there, so that leaves Citeh and PSG, but I think he would rather Citeh.

SO if it was Citeh who got Hazard, it would definitely be a World record fee.

And why would City pay a world record fee for Hazard if they could instead pay a world record fee for someone who actually deserves it? 

If someone seriously believes that Hazard is worth more than Pogba he needs to get his head examined.

It doesn´t work like that. No one is going to pay 120m GBP for Hazard just because Messi and Ronaldo are not available. That is wishful thinking at best.

I rate Hazard and I think he is our best player and also deserved to win player of the year award in 2014-2015 but we need to be realistic. The most likely scenario is that Hazard and a number of other players overachieved that year and won´t ever get back to the kind of form they had during that year. It was Hazard´s only really great season of his career as I said before. I just don´t think he is going to repeat that. This doesn´t mean Hazard is bad, few players are better than him but he is just doesn´t belong into the Messi or Ronaldo category. And he also doesn´t belong into the Bale/Neymar/Suarez/KdB category in my opinion. James Rodriguez who some thought we could get for cheap has a higher goals/assists per game ratio than Hazard, despite Hazard being our clear stand out player. James is also carrying his national team, scoring 6 goals in 5 games at the WC. Hazard never managed to contribute much for Belgium, hasn´t scored a single WC goal and only goal in Euro 2016. Yet people believe someone is going to pay a world record fee for Hazard? That is just wishful thinking as I said before.

I think guessing how much a player would leave for is a pretty dull game, but it certainly doesn't have a huge relationship to what they are "worth".  He's our best player, Chelsea are a big club owned by a Russian oligarch. We are boosted by a huge TV deal and the player is on a long term contract. Fees are inflating in a huge way.  These are more relevant factors than his current form, whatever that is. 

 

It would be a huge fee, make no mistake.

Sorry but this is insane levels of mental. Have you ever actually looked at Hazards list of personal awards? Last year was the only time in his career that he's looked anything other than exceptional. Any team in the world would bite our hands off for him.

This is only the case if we want to keep him and Real or PSG are aggressively looking to buy him.

Things will be very different if we wanted to sell him. He could very well go for under £60m.

I agree I worded it wrong. Hazard had one execptional season and some good seasons. 

There's not many places Hazard could go. Wouldn't get in Reals or Barca's teams. Doubt Bayern would want him.

PSG is the easy life and big money, could be right up Hazards street. Italy is pointless.

Would he really go to City or United. Doubt they would really want him.

 

 

Can we agree that he isn't a top players?  Top players don't go missing for the periods that he does. When he isn't in best form he is absolutely ineffective and that for me means he isn't a good enough player to be the main man.

No we can't, he's obviously a top player for God's sake. He's in the tier below messi/Ronaldo etc.

I think most of us who are totally honest have always known Bale is a better player than Hazard. It's opinion, yes, but one I feel that is relatively easy to argue. And to win. 

What I didn't foresee is the rational formulation of an argument that Victor Moses is better than Hazard. That is starting to happen over the last few games.

No he isn't. 

Suarez, Neymar, Bale, Lewandowski and even De Bruyne and Aguero are just better then him in most parts of football. They score and assist more, they have more world class performances, they have less invisible days, they are still affective when they aren't playing well and they actually change matches more consistently.  

 

Even Costa in our team is better then Hazard. He is certainly more important and pivotal to our attack.
