Time flies but the memory is still as strong.Up the Chels.

In some ways it feels like yesterday; in others it feels like it happened several years ago.

 

Still the club's greatest night, nonetheless.  

Great night. We will have many more.

Our Greatest Day

It will live long in the memory of those of us privileged

to have witnessed it

Im gonna watch Torres goal v Barca and Drogs penalty till i die....( along with ossies diving header v leeds)....In fact theyll be buried with me

I watched the highlights of the final yesterday for the umpteenth time

This time last year my stomach was in knots, I couldn't eat, I barely drank and I couldn't concentrate... Ahh the pain before the glory. This is what it must feel like to be an athlete..... ;-)

I watched replay of the Europa Cup final yesterday on Fox Soccer Channel.  Not the same thing, I know, but seeing Lamps great shot hit the crossbar and then seeing Ivan's great header and then seeing Cahill's great sliding tackle at the end were very exciting.

All the pain we suffered in years gone by made Munich taste better

This time last year my stomach was in knots, I couldn't eat, I barely drank and I couldn't concentrate... Ahh the pain before the glory. This is what it must feel like to be an athlete..... ;-)

We all ordered a chinese, we had ribs, chow mein, foo yung, curry, special rice, chips, everything you could think of.

Needless to say, I barely touched it, went to get some after the match, and it was pretty much all gone :(

Lampards quote never fails to send my pride into overload.

Nothing will top that night. Unless we are in the Champions League final next season vs Spurs and AVB, 3-0 down, and win 4-3 with Mikel hitting in a volley from 25 yards.

But I think this should be the last time we really mention 19/05/2012 in much detail, I know I will refrain from bringing it up again. The end of this season closes a chapter on our kafkeresque story since the sacking of Wilkins.

What happened last season, and this is in the past. And so it shall remain. We are Chelsea FC, the club of the future.

It's amazing because all the way through the tournament after Napoli (except Benfica) I thought we were going out every name and then in the final I was actually pretty relaxed cause I didn't think we would win. It wasn't until Drogba scored I started to feel the nerves. When it got to pens and Cech saved off Olic I knew we were going to win.

What an emotional game that was, a night that wouldn't have been possible without one Roberto Di Matteo, now there's a name in Chelseas history to be proud of.

 

Todays anniversary should mean his name is chanted loud and clear on 16 minutes.

Amazing night.  Their Town, Their Stadium, OUR CUP!

 

Oh, and I think the 19th of May is going to be erased from all calendar's in Spuds households.
