Made some good passes which set up attacking moves, had a good chance to score and made a few good tackles here and there. Not really had anything to do due to Porto being so poor though, he's probably had a harder time in training sessions.

I wasn't happy when we let him go in the first place so yeah, I rated him pretty highly and still do. He's the best DM you're going to get that isn't already at a top club, so he's worth every penny as far as I'm concerned.

Nemanja Matic's move to Chelsea appears more and more likely.

Nemanja Matic has been a hot topic of discussion this week, with reports in Portugal claiming he was even going to skip today's Benfica game for fear of injury ruining a transfer to Chelsea.

This proved to be untrue as the midfielder started the 2-0 win over Porto, but post-game, the midfielder's imminent switch has been reported as done deal by a Serbian TV station.

Matic, who hails from the country, is expected to be unveiled by Chelsea on Tuesday with a transfer fee expected to be €35 million.

RTS reported on Sunday at 6pm: "Nemanja Matic has agreed to return to London's Chelsea... will join new teammates, confirmed the RTS. Unofficially, the amount of the transfer is € 35 million... The fact that Matic began derby match against Porto speaks in favour of this claim."

Matic left Chelsea back in 2011 in a part-exchange deal for David Luiz, where he played just two games for the club. At Benfica he has become one of the most highly rated midfielders on the continent.

Manchester United and Manchester City have both been linked with him in recent weeks, but Matic's past connections with Chelsea, and the fact he shares an agent with Jose Mourinho appears to have swung it.

I think people are getting far to excited over this kid. I really don't believe he is anywhere near as good as people are raving about?

Well we have Ramires who only really warrants his place in our midfield. He is one of our best players. Then we have Mikel who can do a job, Frank who is makeshift for the spot and old, Essien who is ravaged by injuries and simply not just good enough. Van Ginkel is out with the injury.

If Matic is as good as he is said to be this buy would absolutely make sense. Look at City. They have their Ramires in Fernandinho and Yaya who is one of the best players in the world. He commands their midfield and we really don't have that player. Matic could be that if he's good.

We are not buying a striker so this would be the other place we can really strenghten. D is good, AM spots covered and a great keeper. We've only lacked middle of the park and in strikers. 1 down 1 to go (if this deal happens)

He may not an elite CM like yaya, busquets and martinez are but we finally wont have a gaping hole in our midfield. So far weve been forced to use players not suitable for the role (lampard) or players who just arent good enough (mikel, essien)
