I suppose it depends on what's on offer footballing wise, City already have Toure and Fernandinho as a near on cemented midfield partnership so he would probably be contending with Fernandinho for a spot in their start XI, I would assume Garcia or Millner might leave were they to sign another midfielder but it's not like they are short on options there already.

 

If he came to Chelsea he's more or less nailed on to play each week because the lack of depth in quality options we have. 

 

That said, looking at that City team, it's getting pretty scary with their strength in depth and any player who goes there is going to probably win something most seasons right now so you can't blame them for wanting to go there.

Garcia and Rodwell haven't impressed at all really have they. Yaya seems to be picking up more injuries now as well. Arguably, City need another option in there.

Sorry, I didn't mean to suggest he would be guaranteed playing time at Chelsea but merely meant that he might feel confident of getting more regular playing time as our options aren't as good as City's.  

 

I think with the injury problems City have suffered for a lot of the season Pellegrini has tried to have some consistency with his selections elsewhere on the pitch so as not to have too much upheaval in the starting XI which is why Fernandinho and Toure have probably been selected every game.

 

They are both obviously much better than Garcia and Rodwell as well so he's clearly picking his best XI whenever he can, rather than rotating.

. We need an allrounder who can keep the pace up for the attacks and has something to give in terms of scoring.

I don't think we want or need that type of player at all.

We need a player who can pass and move and play a quick ball in the middle of the park, whether that player is Matic I have no idea.

Actually getting pretty excited over this. He's been followed by just about every big club(City, United, Bayern, Barcelona etc).

 

He has covered more ground then anyone else in the CL this year. 13,2 km average every game.

Meh. Wasnt much we could do in regards to Matic. He wasnt ready for first team action last time he was here and he didnt want to sign a new deal so he was leaving on a free in the summer regardless. The last ten years we have had one youngster who have been sold off without getting a shot at playing time that went on becoming good elsewhere. Thats to be expected from a club this size.

Well we've never done this sort of thing before really. Plus, we're about to make £10m on a player who's played 2 PL games for us (De Bruyne) which isn't bad business.

Exactly. I've no issue here at all though no doubt I will get blown out of all proportion.

Matic wasn't ready and was used in an important deal for Chelsea to buy a player who has gone on to do well for us. If the KDB money goes towards it too then I don't think anyone can moan really.
