Eto'o on twitter

Samuel Eto'o has done little to endear himself to Chelsea fans after seemingly celebrating his side's loss to Sunderland in the Capital One Cup last night.

The Chelsea striker posted a picture to his official Twitter account, which featured the 2-1 scoreline emblazoned over a photo of Eto'o in action.

The picture also features his "SE29" logo in the bottom right hand corner.

Chelsea fans reacted angrily to the tweet, which seemed to be celebrating Samuel Eto'o's individual efforts in the fixture.

One fan, Ewan McKenna, simply wrote: "F*** off" in reply to the tweet.

Another Chelsea fan, with the user name "Calculated Kalou" replied by questioning if Samuel Eto'o's post was a joke.

"[is] this a p*** take or what? That f*** awful performance from you wasn't enough you have to post this. You're not fit to wear the shirt," the fan responded.

It was also pointed out that the picture of Eto'o wasn't even taking during the game against Sunderland.

"That pictures not (sic) even from tonight's game. Clearly knows what he's doing here," wrote Ally Mackay.

What was he playing at?

These reactions are quite over the top. I don't see what the big deal is.

I have no idea what that Mackay fellow is on about, what does he think he's doing?

Looks like he does this after every game. Gross overreaction as usual from the Twitterati, making our fans look like idiots. The Mirror are clearly working their arses off to get the best quality of story possible...

Ultimate fuss about nothing. Deary me. Plenty of reasons to have a pop at Eto'o after last night but this is looking for something that isnt there.

I don't follow him on twitter, so this is the first time I have seen it, but its still a silly thing to do

What's the problem? I'm not a fan of eto at all but this is hardly anything to get upset over.

It gives the impression that self promotion takes precedence for him.

He effectively "advertising" himself after playing sh*t and we lost.

Like I said, ill advised.

What did anyone actually think eto came here because he is desperate to help chelsea win trophies? He came here for one last pay day that was obvious from the beginning.

Does Eto'o actually update his own twitter account? It seem odd that after a game he would find a computer to generate these pictures (scores included) himself.

most footballers dont run their own accounts, is this definitely his own work, or has his management landed him in it? could well be sh*t management and he is copping a lot of flak for it. i think he cares more for the club than this would suggest, just look at how he celebrates when he scores

He definitely is directly involved involved in the account.

Whether he posted up this picture himself is another question but he advertises it as the "official" Eto'o account so the buck stops with him.

Non-story. As mentioned by others, he's done it for other games. Just another dose of the media's anti-Chelsea agenda. Although this time from the Mirror, not the Mail.

Compared to what some footballers put on Twitter, this is nothing.

I would be more concerned if he was using twitter to organise a fight with Leon Knight.
