Chelsea v Manchester United (PL) 19/01/14 KO 16:00 GMT

Featured Replies

Round two against Manchester United and this time we host them at Stamford Bridge.

Well, what is there to say about this match?

When we went to Old Trafford earlier this season United had yet to spectacularly implode like we have seen them now do. We went there anxious about not losing and played for the one point. This time however we host them on our own patch on the back of a good run in the league whereas they have suffered to say the least.

There is a good chance they will be missing Van Persie and/or Rooney, their defense is full of holes, and their midfield is pathetic compared to our own. Whichever way you slice it, on paper we seem too much for them to handle.

If we score in the first ten minutes and are two/three up by half-time this could be an absolute wipe-out.

Cech, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Terry, Cole, Ramires, Luiz, Hazard, Oscar, Willian, Torres.

I never thought I'd say this but anything other than a win against them at home this year will definitely be points dropped IMO. We showed them too much respect at Old Trafford. Other Teams didn't and won comfortably! Therefore, if we go for the jugular a win, even a good win should be do-able. If we are cage'y 1-1 ... ?

I wouldn't get carried away. United are in danger of entering scouser territory were they look to these games "to turn there season around" small team mentality. How many times should we have smashed liverpool when everyone else was beating them only to have them put in a very decent shift...

Take nothing for granted.

Was supremely confident about this but on closer inspection it may not be the foregone conclusion many are expecting. Potential for rooney to be back, young adnan played a stormer today and it wouldn't surprise me to see us struggle to break them down next week as they'll all be building this up as a huge game and desperate to prove a point.

We should in theory f**king smash them, but in reality it may not pan out that way.

1-1

They've beaten Swansea today but to me Man U are ripe for the taking. I reckon Rooney will be back by then but we should be able to run rings around their midfield and defence.

Let's smash them.

We should crush them, and we will.  I don't think our team nor Mourinho is going to get complacent, especially against these utter twats, and complacency is the only way they could possibly overcome us at the Bridge.  Well unless Clattenburg is the ref again, and even then it took a last minute offside winner.

So glad to see the lads playing well and having a good run. We sit at top if only for a day, we are where we need to be and with a but of luck we will stay there.

United.... Honestly they have such an average team, their name and reputation is the only thing that they have going for them at the moment. Anything but a win at home against this band of muppets should be seen as disappointing. Cleverly,Carrick, Shinji He's better than Hazard Kagawa?

All I have to say to that is... Hazard,Willian,Oscar,Mata,Schurrle,Ramires,Lampard, bring it on.

Should be a win, if we are serious about winning the title it MUST be a win.

Agreed..time to put the pretenders away & state our intent as contenders

Without van Persie I'm not worried. As long as we score 2 we will win the game, because there's no way the sh*tkickers will get more than one lucky and deflected garbage goal. Expect Terry to give a MOTM performance.

what an exciting game this is...were at home playing a manx team not quite at their best.we know we have the potential to show them who the guvernors are, as well as being aware that this lot also cannot be ruled out of raising their game against us...not a match to take lightly..i suggest a 2 1 win to us is likely...love nando to score the winner while the red fans are in mid song .....WHAT A WASTE OF.....OH sh*t

Must win match and we need to set the pace early, Steam out of the blocks and show that we are in it to win it this season. At home we shouldnt give them a chance to settle and should push for an early goal. Theyre not having the best season but for me that makes them slightly more dangerous in the sense we could underrate them and also they have more to prove.

I hope we play at our very best and absolutely smash them. I just worry that Jose will give them a little too much credit like the match at Mould Trafford and play it a little overly safe.

A lot of the mancs on red cafe think we would be happy with a draw

:laugh2:

There are actual Mancs on Red Cafe?

If your average United fan was any further southern they'd be French.

Moyes has never won at Stamford Bridge, Jose has never lost.  In the league anyway.  We'd never hear the end of it if they beat us so it's already out of the question.

Please, please, please let's not makes a bollix of this. Go at them hard like the pool first half and give them the dubya shock and awe treatment. These could be in for a hammering but I'd take 3 points anyhow.
