Paul Pogba - Needs to Sign!

Featured Replies

Would love to sign Pogba. He has the potential to become a real star, in the mould of a modern Patrick Vieira.

I get the sense that we aren't quite finished addressing the midfield. Lots of rumours linking us to Kroos and now Pogba. I say we press ahead.

saw that article on Goal. I wouldn't ever rely on that source, which extends to givemesport, bleacherreport, and other un-moderated football blog sites where anyone can make up an article and post it online.

Just cant see us getting Pogba. Would love to be wrong but I cant see it happening unless we start to offload some of the dead wood in our team (mikel, moses, marin, TORRES) which would part fund it in salary savings and recouped transfer fees (albeit a marginal percentage).

I think our business will be limited to a left back and a striker and other than that, we're done for the summer.

Again, really hope I'm wrong!!

It's from Goal so it's probably bullsh*t

Chelsea are stepping up their pursuit of Paul Pogba by preparing to offer him the most lucrative contract in their history, Goal understands.

The Londoners are putting together what sources say is a "staggering" package to entice the French sensation to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Goal understands that Juventus are determined to keep hold of their prize asset but could be tempted into a sale were they to receive an offer that meets their £60m-plus valuation.

The Stamford Bridge club have already made discreet enquiries for Pogba and believe that he could be open to a return to the Premier League.

Fixed it.

Paying 60 million pound for a player is a big gamble, he looks fantastic but I might not be so sad if he doesn't come for that price tag.

As someone stated earlier on this forum, we would have pogbamatic midfield!

Sounds powerful, at least to me. :D

I think now is the time to strike for Pogba if we are serious about spending big on him.

Madrid and barca are chasing suarez, city and psg are stunted financially, he could take us onto another level.

Every game ive seen him in, whether it be Juve or France he's looked a class above. 60 mil is pretty steep but if we get rid of some loanees for a couple of mil each and some of our other players like mikel, marin, moses, romeu etc then it wont even cut into our transfer funds

IF.  And that is a huge IF, we sign Pogba.  Expect Oscar and Ramires to either be included in the transfer, or quickly shipped out right after.  Although I'd love to see Willian gone and Oscar to stay, Willian has little transfer value (mainly because of his true talent level), while Oscar is a top 15 offensive midfielder right now.  Juve has been interested in Ramires before, so it would make sense if he was included in the transfer.

While I love Pogba, and would have had him as first choice before we got Cesc.  I think his position (Defensive Mid with a slight skill at attacking) is redundant.  We have Matic, who has made some epic passes in his short stint with CFC, and Ramires / Mikel, who both have shown some offensive abilities.  Don't waste money on a player we don't need while we have other more glaring needs at this time.

Defensive mid with a slight skill at attacking?!!!

Are you fecking serious?!!

Hes not a DM, and his attacking skills are better than his defending.

Id really like to hear from you, what precisely does he lack going forward.

Nah I dunt think he'll count has a HG player. You need to spend at least 3 years to count as HG before the age of 21.. he spent 2 years and 9 months.

Read it somewhere.

I think there is room for another quality midfilder and I'm hoping we buy one after a striker and left back is secured. Fabregas can also be used in attacking midfield when needed.

I disagree, who are you going to drop if we sign Pogba, We have Matic, Fabregas, Oscar. Ramires, Van Ginkel, Mikel, Romeu, Chalaboah. I know a few will probably leave but we'll have more than enough in my opinion. Also you have to think of formation changes for other players aswell so I really don't think there's room for Pogba.

Willian is a great player to have in the team, people seem to think footballers have to be supreme finishers etc but Willian gives the team something huge in big games, work rate. This is not to be underestimated either, also it was his first season in English football last season and I think he did damn good myself.

Pogba is a player any team would kill to have.. But signing him would mean none of Baker,

Loftus Cheek and Chalobah will be given a real chance in the future, and I cant stand hearing people talk about how we never integrate youth.

I like Willian too, his work rate is awesome.

Oscar appears too fragile for the BPL imho, although lets see how he gets on this coming season, sadly I think he could be gone January though.

Re Mikel, Ramires & Romeu, sell them now.
