Paul Pogba - Needs to Sign!

Featured Replies

Gazzetta reporting that we are ready to offer 70 million euros for him.

We need to sell a lot of shirts and the naming rights of car parks to afford that kind of money for Pogba.

All meeja hype, cannot see it happening at all, as with Kroos, etc, we are being linked with everyman and his dog, as usual.

I could only see us spending that money if we were to sell Mikel and Ramires.

I do not see us making such an offer, but I am sure we would be able to afford it if we were to do so with both sales and the extra revenue from TV money and Cl bonuses.

Man I hope this happens. Pairing Pogba with Matic gives us a duo he that will never get pushed around even against the best teams in the world. Plus both players have the ability to distribute and make plats from deeper. Push Cesc into the 10 role and we are looking damn good.

If we keep Lukaku and give him enough time, along with Costa, that is a successful transfer window.

Few rumours of us having bid £55m for him.

Can't see it myself but this is a lingering rumour so who knows.

Think it is likely a dream guys, dream if you want him to come to Chelsea that is. Jose seems to be a fan of Ramires and his place in the side, and likely that of Oscar another he rates highly, would be most probably gone if we signed Pogba as you would imagine the midfield line up would become: Matic, Pogba, Cesc, Willian and Hazard.

I disagree. Yes Jose likes Ramires but Ramires still has a role to play since he is able to be put in multiple spots. I personally think Oscar has the most to lose here. He has not been good enough in the 10 role and I think Jose has realized that.

José's job is to make the squad better. Cesc is better than Oscar. Pogba is better than Ramires.

Does Juventus desperately needs money? I doubt it, plus if rumours are right they are planning to sell Vidal. I can't see them selling 2 top players in the same window. Would be an amazing signing, but very unlikely in my view.

but if pogba doesnt want to extend his contract they will lose a lot of money if they dont sell him now

I don't think Oscar has anything to lose. Fantastic talent but not quite ready to lead a big team week in and week out. I'm sure he will be in a season or two and Jose has realised this. Cesc is the filler.

Only way I could see this one happening is if we sold Mikel and Ramires.

Not sure how likely we would be to overhaul our midfield so drastically within 6 months.

Definitely needed though, our midfield has been poor in recent years.

Lampard & Ramires never complimented eachother, no communication, they'd both roam free & it left too much space to be exploited, it was poor.

So poor we won 3 mayor trophies.

Our midfield has been an issue for quite some time to be fair.

Our central two have never really 'clicked' in the way say Lamps and Ballack did a few years back or when we had Essien at his peak.

Now we have Matic and Fabregas which looks much stronger than what we had the past few seasons. With guys like Ramires, Mikel and Possibly Tiago to fill in when needed too.

However if we did somehow manage to get a Kroos or Pogba who could play alongside Matic that would mean Fabregas could move more forward and compete with Oscar who I don't think is going to be any great shakes at the start of next season.

I put it down to the switch from 4-3-3 to 4-2-3-1.

Before we had one holding player to start off the moves and two box to box midfielders who contributed heavily to both attack and defense. Lampard, Ballack, Ramires, Essien (in his prime) are all at their most effective when dictating the game from all over the field which they could do in 4-3-3.

Switch to 4-2-3-1 and suddenly you have 2 player who need to sit deeper and allow the 4 in front to do the majority of the attacking and that just didn't suit Lampard and Ramires has never looked as good as he did when in 4-3-3... We've square peg, round holed it for a couple of years... It's not that the players aren't good enough but in my opinion they weren't best suited to the formation.

Now we've Matic who looks a lot more naturally suited to the role and hopefully Fabregas complements that.
