Diego Costa to Chelsea

I've heard reports that Torres wants to go to Atletico. Possible straight swap with a bit of cash from us to sweeten it? Maybe I'm just hoping too much, but that would be a win win situation for sure.

A BIT of cash to SWEETEN it?

Are we talking about the same Torres here? Atletico would have to break their wage structure to sign Torres, a striker whos been dreadful for the last 3 years.

They are in a bad financial situation and signing Torres will do nothing to help it. Its highly unlikely theyd want Torres, and best case scenario, it would knock 2-3 millions off of Costas price

If you look at Torres' best matches, they have been in Europe. Plus, I just think he is completely miserable here and is no longer trying. Its clear that he is no longer all that psyched to be playing in blue. The constant sulk face on Saturday against Stoke just reeked of a player who is not happy where he is. Maybe a move back home will have a return to form? Completely different game out there. Wouldn't be the first time new surroundings helped a players career.

But most of all, its just wishful thinking on my part. Nobody here can honestly say they wouldn't be satisfied with such a trade off. Would save us money to grab ourselves another striker, a new creative midfielder and full back if we get shot of David Luiz to PSG.

Yeh mate understand all that but the dollars and cents don't stake up . Torres is on $175k a week here , Athletico can't get close to that so why would Torres go there? We would have to pay his contract out or pay them to match his wages.  Why would Torres take a wage cut ?

If Chelsea are going to rid themselves of the Torres burden i would suggest the most likely outcome is a loan deal where Chelsea pay a % of his wages.

Chelsea will have to swallow it, Its absolutely time to move on from this fiasco and you get the impression that the club are starting to think the same way too.

A four year contract on 100k a week is worth more to him than 175k on a two year contract. However, it won't happen.

You would think that even a loan deal with a team paying part of his wages is better than him sitting around the club offering nothing put picking up he massive pay check every week like Malouda did last season.

If we could loan him to a team that could pay even 75k it would suck for us in one way but it would also save us squad space and that 75k a week could go on a new signing.

Im not even going to pretend to know how Chelsea's books balance but if we cant sell him (which imo would be very hard to do) then a loan for the rest of his contract is the best answer.

Also teams that may be even a little bit interested have us over a barrel because they know we want rid of him so they can play hardball with how much they are willing to pay. Not forgetting Torres saying he wants to stay for the next two years, he could make it very difficult for us indeed.

I think what effects Torres going is that he sells so many shirts worldwide, Not sure the club will let him go for nothing whilst paying for some wages.

Does he really though ? At least in 2014 ?

Actually changed my mind - I'm going to have a very uneducated guess.

The blond hair, I think in asia they are quite big on the blond stuff... that's all I have

A quick Google shows he was either the 8th or 9th best selling shirt worldwide.

I got 3 but regardless.... Could it be argued that his transfer fee may have been repaid by shirt sales alone?

We'll give Atletico Demba Ba for Costa + 20 million quid.

That's still 10 million too short for them

Doubt they would want Ba either

In one of my many career mode of  fifa 13 career mode, atletico signed demba ba, and he was a beast with them... maybe they would wan it, and reus would go to granada!! xD I have doubt if atletico would sell him, they dont have another striker waiting like they had last year.

Chelsea are a very attractive club to join.Mourinho is at the very top in coaches worldwide,7 CL semis in eleven years.I think Costa will come and Jose will make him an even better player.Courtois could become the new Cech as well.

ive also heard that it was after 18 months of him being here
