costa no thanks hes not fit cruciate ligiment problems bad disiplin record in the premier defenders will have a feild day getting him sent off do we really

need another hasbeen shivchenko, torres fFS we would be better of signing SCUM BAG gerrard at least he scores in big matches for us

all you haear is he makes great runs dont they say that about torres if it was down to runs will give the team a doggy ruby before each match and save a bloody fortune

and do you not think if he was coming jose would have it all sealed by now

Poetry, 2014.

Well Jose has all but confirmed the transfer, Cesc and Costa wrapped up nice and early, great business by the board.

Will be fun watching United/Liverpool/Arsenal flounder around with their targets until deadline day.

"Why would I have chosen to play for Chelsea? It is a thing that is about to happen," Costa told Goal. "Things are going in a direction and, if they keep going as they are going, it is the team I will play for in the next season.

"I've wanted to play in the Premier League for a while. Chelsea are one of the greatest clubs of the world so there are many factors that make you take a decision like this."

The 25-year-old is cautious about affirming expectations that his playing style is ideally suited to English football. "Every year is a different story, nothing is easy in life," he says. "I will have to work a lot to fit in with the style of the Premier League."

The striker was roundly booed by Brazilian spectators as he made his World Cup debut for Spain in Salvador, a city less than 300 kilometres from his birthplace, on Friday. He won Spain's penalty in the 5-1 defeat and declared himself unaffected by verbal abuse querying his sexuality.

"In Spain it happens to me in every stadium I play so I'm pretty much accustomed to it," Costa observed. "I had my right of choice so it's the same for the public, they have the right to choose to boo me. When you are on the pitch you don't think about those things. I saw it coming, I knew it was going to happen so I had my head ready for that."

I still don't understand why Jose want Costa so much. Who watched Columbia could see how Jackson Martinez is working, his coach gave him like 15 minutes to play, and he ran more than all Greece. Porto wants 25m for him, and Chelsea want to pay 30m for Costa..

I know goal would publish any little rumor, but they wouldnt falsify quotes would they?

They are a terrible website that make things up a good amount of times so I don't know, it's the last website I'd look at for any concrete proof.

I assume we are waiting on Atletico to find a replacement for Costa before finalising the deal.

That's not the best idea in itself.

Say Atletico don't find anyone and pull out late on then we are in a position like last season with putting all our eggs in the one basket and having no one else lined up.

Hopefully not the case.

Won't happen we've met his buyout clause and he's expressed his desire to move, he's coming

Well hopefully but we have seen these things fall through before so best not to be too bullish IMO.

Pretty sure Spuds had all but confirmed Willain before that fell through in the last hours.

We could just give them Torres lol

If only.

We need to loan him out at least....surely

It seems legitimate, why would they falsify quotes? It opens them up to litigation. Most respectable mainstream websites avoid that risk.

Not saying they are but they are a terrible source at the best of times.

I wouldn't worry much about his performances for Spain they have no idea how to use him for one and he's getting no service. To get the best out of Costa Spain needed Navas, Costa thrives off crosses and long balls, think Fabregas might be a good option to create something for him.
