Mike Dean

Featured Replies

Cancels out a good goal.

Goes blind when Ramires was pole axed and missed stonewaller.

Then gives them the softest penalty in history.

And guess what, ^^hardly mentioned on sky.

Not looking for scapegoats. Whilst I think the referee had a bad game, a title winning team should be beating these teams easily and not leaving it to such fine margins where a referee can swing the game. Ultimately this describes our season -- we turn up against the big teams, and mess up with the lesser ones.

I just found it hilarious how someone had edited Wiki literally instantly as the penalty was given.  :laugh2:

What's wrong with blaming Mike Dean? IAs coco pointed out, he ruled out a good goal, didn't even think about giving a penalty for the barge on Ramires - you will never in your life see a clearer example of preventing a goal scoring opportunity.

Add the eagerness with which he pointed to the spot for their penalty and you have three massive game-changing decisions that went against us.

Mike Dean is from the Wirral, which as most of you know, is the posh part of Merseyside. Which makes him almost a scouse, Almost did I say? As far as I'm concerned, the Wirral is too close for comfort.

I'm not going to trot out a conspiracy theory here. I'm not going to accuse Mike Dean of bias or corruption.

What I am going to do is call him a useless, fit for f**k all, baldiie posh scouse c**t.

Disagree all you like, but it makes me feel better. So f**k him

f**k 'em all.

Just because YOU don't find it necessary, gussy!  I think it does people good to give vent to their justified wrath.

They say refereeing decisions are supposed to even themselves out over the season, i'm still waiting for our waterfall of dodgy penalties and biased refereeing performances we're due to be on par with Liverpool.

Foy cost us 3 points vs Villa, i'm not sure i'd go so far as to say Riley cost us 3 today but he certainly cost us at least 1.

The penalty we conceded to be honest I thought looked a pen from the TV angle on real time, it's not until you get the reverse camera angle (which I presume Riley would have had) that you can see Altidore sticks his leg out to kick Azpi so he can fall over. The lino flagged it and it would have been near impossible for him to tell from his angle, with the benefit of a replay it is certainly not a peno but it was a tough one for the refs.

No idea how the peno for Cattermole's handball didn't get awarded though, nor when O'Shea smashed Ramires when he had an open goal, mystifying.

we can look for scapegoats all we want, but i dont think the performance deserved anything more than 1 point

totally agree. we can all jump on the Mourinho bandwagon, but the only reason he has to come out and criticise the ref is because we didnt do enough to win. mistakes from players that you just wouldnt expect mistakes from, and lack of cutting edge (again) in the final third.

What's the issue with the thread? And what relevance does it have on an upcoming match?

Like I said, I merely pointed it out because someone edited the Wiki INSTANTLY after the penalty was given and I found it humorous.

But we got that pen against west brom, so they even out over the season, and we are never allowed to talk about referee decisions ever again, ever.

It all evens out!1 to 100 it doesnt matter it all evens out over a season!

I'm going mad.

Jamie Redknapp actually thought Sunderlands pen was a penalty, it was embarrassing to listen too.

We were playing like Real Madrid, up until that penalty.

Comments like this just show you are completely missing the point. No we weren't good but we done enough once again and if the officials did their job correctly we would of won the game and the game at villa. Add to that the team we are chasing down have had a ridiculous amount of incorrect decisions go their way and it stinks of corruption

I hope Mike Dean returns home to find travellers in his garden, squatters in his front room and Ryan Giggs in his wife.

:happy001:

A ref from Liverpool and a linesman from Liverpool.

Aren't there some sort of regulations preventing this from happening? Unbelievable.

Not just that but there was that story ages ago about Mike Dean being recorded singing YNWA.

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Video-Ref-Howard-Webb-leads-singing-of-Liverpool-anthem-You-ll-Never-Walk-Alone-before-his-Manchester-United-v-Chelsea-date-article733391.html

Video has of course been taken down. This is what Jose means about Mike Riley allowing this to happen. Two out of the four officials are most likely Liverpool fans.

It WAS very frustrating today and Dean certainly played his part with some of his decisions. BUT the real frustration yet again was our performance and our complete inability to deal with teams like Sunderland. 70% possession at one point and over 20 attempts on goal but I really didn't think we looked that dangerous. Too many players not having the balls when it really matters. Midfielders who are great players but lack something in the final third and three strikers that would be hard pushed to get in any other top side.

It's been there for all to see for the majority of the season. We have become too reliant on Hazard and when he's off form or even worse, not on the pitch, we struggle.

You keep saying that but repeatedly fail to acknowledge Dean's Liverpool connection, his past history in relation to the FA'sdecision to take the 2006 cup final off him because of Liverpool's involvement, and the two key decisions he gave against us to today.

More fun!

"Ex-footballer Jake, who was at both Everton and Liverpool in his teens". Jake Collins played for Liverpool as a teenager. First time in 24 years to see his former club win the league. Why wouldn't he risk it? the FA has put him in the position anyway.

Yet none of this will make the backpages tomorrow.

Bluehatter we are a million miles apart in our opinions on Nando, and always will be I fear. But on this subject you are entirely correct IMO.

I think the ref was poor again today but i don't think it was his fault we lost. Yes the penalty given was a joke and any chance we had at winning the title is probably gone now but he should have sent off Ramires and he didn't. If there was any bias here he would have sent him off.

We were just poor again, as soon as we approach the oppositions area we stop or play 5 yard passes. If we would just try and thread a decent pass into the area our performances would be so much better. We are too predictable.
