Izanagi Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 You. f**king. Legend. Manager of the season, no questions. The job he's done on Crystal Palace is absolutely unreal.
Shotgun883 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 You. f**king. Legend. Manager of the season, no questions. The job he's done on Crystal Palace is absolutely unreal. Erm, entertaining football or the complete lack of self awareness at 3-0 up, that maybe, maybe its not the time to act like bell ends and forget defence... You choose.
The Brit Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Rodgers has been carried by Sturridge and Suarez...pulis had to get a team from rock bottom full of average players and keep them up...and the season was already three months in...no contest for manager of the year imo
Veeria Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 No way, parking the bus is sh*t football, if it wins you games so what! It's all about attacking football and letting leads slip
bluegraham Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Rodgers has been carried by Sturridge and Suarez...pulis had to get a team from rock bottom full of average players and keep them up...and the season was already three months in...no contest for manager of the year imo 100 % agree. I brought my mate to the palace game at the bridge he was asking me about palace and I.said they haven't a hope of staying up. How wrong was I. What pulis done is a amazing achievement. The palace fans are top notch aswell.
Jonty Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Probably the most underrated manager in the league, i'd be very interested to see what he could do at a team with a bit more money and quality. Not us mind you, someone like Spuds who need someone to give them a good bollocking.
icecoolguy22 Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 He has done an amazing job, never took notice of him and Palace until our game, now I look back it wasn't a fluke. His wingers were really fast and tricky, the palace game was the first time this year I saw someone has Cesar/Ivanoic worried. Last night their winger absolutely murdered G Johnson, couldn't happened to a nicer guy.
Guest RFC_CFC Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 He's done a miracle job with Palace so he deserves to be named MOTY. Became stale at Stoke but was sacked because they got bored (of staying in the EPL..) so he has given his doubters a big two fingered salute. Be interesting to see what he can do next season with some funds to get his own players in ect.
Guest RFC_CFC Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Another thing is the Palace crowds...easily the best and most vocal in the EPL. I'd love the bridge to sound and look like what they give their team. They deserve huge praise too.
Veeria Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) Pulis has been named manager of the year, has done an absolutely fantastic job, well deserved. Edited May 12, 2014 by Veeria
londonblue Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Whisper it quietly but I think Pulis should be in contention for the pride of Britain awards
londonblue Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Apparently Brendan Rodgers has just been voted LMA manager of the season
londonblue Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 from what Ive read Tony Pulis had won the vote from all PREMIER LEAGUE managers for manager of the season and Brendan Rodgers has won the vote from all FOOTBALL LEAGUE managers 2 separate awards apparently
Veeria Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Hmm weird one, having a look at previous winners and the premier league one seems (to me at least) a lot better resprestenation. Few examples; Premier league manager; Football league manager; - 04/05 Jose Mourinho - 04/05 David Moyes - 05/06 Jose Mourhino - 05/06 Steve Coppell -06/07 Alex Ferguson - 06/07 Steve Coppell -08/09 Alex Ferguson. - 08/09 David Moyes - 13/14 Tony Pulis - f**kING BRENDAN RODGERS How many ex-scousers are now managing league teams?
WeatherMan Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 I can't say I like the bloke but Pulis has done a magnificent job with Palace and deserves the award. I think their fans deserve a mention as well. We could learn a bit from them when it comes to driving a team on with passionate support.
Zola Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 One is the League of Managers, like the PFA, the other voted by the public??

All the day trippers, hoorays and glory hunters would be gone.
bjd Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 If we had just come out of years in the championship we would have that type of support. All the day trippers, hoorays and glory hunters would be gone. Theres a bit more to it than that. Its not just happened across one season or due to the promotion - a section of the Palace support have worked hard to create an initiative to improve the atmosphere and support at Selhurst Park over the past five year period. Selhurst Park is a dump of a ground and the Palace support was always traditionally not the loudest. Its really changed now and clearly it makes a healthy difference to the club. The 'ultras' tag is a little cringeworthy of course, but i can only applaud them. Clearly it makes a difference, their support (home and away) puts plenty of other teams to shame.
