October 21, 201411 yr That article has a point but I don't agree with it completely, he tslks like if they'd rested people they would have won the European Cup. Kind of takes away from us beating them. We were just gonna win that game we'd had enough. As for if they had have gotten to the final I'm sure Jose would have had a gameplan for Wengers side even then so Porto may have beaten them also. I do agree though that were they so good they'd have won more.

I do agree though that were they so good they'd have won more. I think Durham was more insinuating that Wenger was blinkered by the league that we he stubbornly refused to rotate his squad for the greater good of the season. Yes they went unbeaten for the whole season but could they have achieved more in the domestic cups and Europe if they'd rotated more and not been so precious about the unbeaten record. Like Durham says, yes they were unbeaten but they wasn't actually winning all the time and so despite not losing a game they didn't even set the records point tally.... That's not to take away from the achievement of going unbeaten but the side is hailed as the greatest Premier League side ever when there have been other sides who won more games and got more points but also achieved more outside of the league.
October 21, 201411 yr A simple fact which shows how close an unbeaten season can be. Arsenal at home to Pompey, 1-0 down Pires dives, penalty finishes a draw. Chelsea away to City, 0-0 Anelka goes down outside the box, Penalty. Chelsea lose 1-0. One game difference.

October 21, 201411 yr One thing that perplexes me a bit is all this talk that De Gea is a world class keeper and one of Man Utd's better players. I know he had a fantastic match against Everton and he's pulled off a couple of worldies in his time but I just don't see it, he isn't anything special and if he's snapped up by one of the Spanish clubs I'd put 50% of that down to his nationality. I mean 5 against Leicester?? West Brom have 2 shots on target & both go in? Yeah their defence is weak/all over the place but he plays a hue part in that. Pete or Courtios do not concede 5 goals against a newly promoted team with all due respect to The Foxes. If there is a goalkeeper who's quality far outweighs his fellow team mates its Lloris. If Man Utd get rid of De Gea and bring him in they'd cencede a hell of a lot less goals.
October 21, 201411 yr Not sure what DeGea could do against many of those goals though. I think he's class personally. Lloris is one I don't get he's always making mistakes and has shipped in plenty himself. Edited October 21, 201411 yr by Bobbywoodhogan
October 21, 201411 yr Fair point regarding the mistakes but I still don't see the hype surrounding De Gea.
October 21, 201411 yr Fair point regarding the mistakes but I still don't see the hype surrounding De Gea. He's got great reflexes and a good shot stopper but I still think Cech and Courtois are better overall keepers than him.
October 21, 201411 yr So Tarrabt has come out and said Redknapp is making a scategoat of him and that he weighs 1KG less than last year. Not going to end well for either I feel. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29699434 "He is the worst professional I have ever come across and I have been his only ally at QPR for the past three years. He doesn't try and I have protected him for too long." This is absolutely brilliant. You would think that such a poor tactician would be a better man manager... Ah well, I'm gonna sit back and enjoy the circus.
October 21, 201411 yr He's got great reflexes and a good shot stopper but I still think Cech and Courtois are better overall keepers than him. I'd agree with that but DeGea is the only one directly behind those two in my opinion
October 21, 201411 yr Pretty undeserved goal from City but Moscow really need to make more of these chances and openings, they've been playing good football, I expect it to go downhill for them now.
October 21, 201411 yr Being behind closed doors surely favours man city. It's identical to their atmospheres at home games.
October 21, 201411 yr Enigma, Just got a text from a rag friend with something very similar, You're not a closet red are you? lol
October 21, 201411 yr Fernando with a crunching two footed tackle on Ackmed Musa, The guy who said our defense is poor and we are a weak side, Yellow card.
October 21, 201411 yr Yaya Toure is immensely talented but when he can't be f**ked to do something it is so obvious. Kinda just jogging around barely getting involved anymore.
October 21, 201411 yr Man City are pretty much out of the CL if they don't win this. Bad news for our title charge Edited October 21, 201411 yr by JoeyN

October 21, 201411 yr Man City are pretty much out of the CL if they don't win this. Bad news for our title charge Yeah for that I'm still hoping for a win for City, you just know they won't give a sh*t about the Europa League
October 21, 201411 yr It was an awful call. Really embarrassing decision from the ref but City can only blame themselves as they haven't made much of an attempt to even just retain possession and see out the game. Why would you sub off Dzeko for Navas? Why not tighten things up in the midfield?
