May 3, 201511 yr Yes it's much more thrilling to pinch the league by a point on the last day of the season after needing other teams to beat your nearest challengers for you. Exactly. Tosser. x10000
May 4, 201511 yr Pellegrini wot a c**t of the highest order pratting on about how Chelsea conceded 5 goals at WHL and how they won the league last year by scoring lots of goals a total ungracious twat and the sorest loser of the highest order I hope the Man City fans are proud of him. In any event his so called goal scoring machine of a football team have only scored a couple more than us and we have been without a decent striker for several weeks while theirs have been fit pretty much most of the year. There are still 3 games left so I say let's overtake them by scoring the most goals and I hope Costa comes back and scores 6 goals or more and steals the golden boot and then kicks the Chilean in the nuts...
May 4, 201511 yr Yeah you won it in real style Pellegrino, took the best squad in the league by far and finished 4 points ahead of a team with Torres as their best striker and 2 points ahead of a team that can't defend to save its life, while we romped the league! That's style.
May 4, 201511 yr What's pellegrini on about? We gave them a foot up to the win the damn league last season; wish we wouldn't have now.

I didn't get that (i.e. re WHL either). It was too long ago to be relevant. Had it happened last week, fair enough. On our current form it's an irrelevant point.
May 4, 201511 yr What's pellegrini on about? We gave them a foot up to the win the damn league last season; wish we wouldn't have now.Let's not go that far, if Liverpool had won it, it would gave been unbearable.Pellegrino is just lashing out, he knows he's gonna be sacked do he's trying to make excuses. End of the day it's not how you won the title, just that you won it. Champions! Edited May 4, 201511 yr by Bobbywoodhogan
May 4, 201511 yr I'd like to get everyone's thoughts on the Blackpool match incident http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32459756 I've had disagreements with people as I think it was a disgrace they did what they did, there were plenty of their own fans not involved in the protest and the Huddersfield fans had paid money aswell. I thought it was very selfish and idiotic of them and they should have protested afterwards if at all.

I'm all for peaceful protest, the guys storming the director's box just made football look like thuggery.

Go and read what the Oystons are doing to that club and how they're taking on their own fans. This is the supporters club and this is the only way they can actually make an impact. I hope they manage to force those running their club out.
May 4, 201511 yr For once I find myself disagreeing with Bobby (sorry sweetie, it's such a rarity!) and agreeing with Blue Daze on this subject. I don't know what I'd do if Chelsea were ever in that position, these fans are desperate for something to happen, they've lost all hope. There's actually quite a good piece by Martin Samuel (standard) in today's Mail about it. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-3066471/Why-feeble-Football-League-let-Blackpool-hit-rock-bottom.html Even if he did decide to sell, who in their right mind will buy them? In the current state? It's going to take years of rebuilding. Feel for those fans who not so long ago were in the PL. Thank god for Abramovich, we truly are blessed with the greatest owner.
May 4, 201511 yr I don't think anyone questions the fans upset and motivation, just perhaps the method. I have real sympathy for them, but also those at the stadium, especially youngsters, as the aggression can be intimidating and induce fears for safety.
May 4, 201511 yr Oh indeed Droogba, I understand both sides of the argument, but in desperation sometimes rational thinking stays in the stands.

I have real sympathy for them, but also those at the stadium, especially youngsters, as the aggression can be intimidating and induce fears for safety. I've read and seen nothing to suggest anyone (apart from maybe the Oystons) might have been in danger. In fact the protests leading up to the match had people of all ages, families in fact. Good on them for actually doing something to get what's best for their club.
May 4, 201511 yr Apparently Jimmy Greaves suffered a stroke yesterday and is in intensive care. Awful to hear and he was only TV just before the League Cup Final looking healthy and pretty vibrant. Best wishes to him and his family. Terrible news though.
May 4, 201511 yr Stevie G enjoyed that goal, he's had "his moment" as the commentator said. A goal against QPR who are pretty much relegated, at home, with nowt to play for and in a league position they'd rather not be in. Season highlight. Ahh I'm mean, I'll let him enjoy it, bless. I thought nobody could dislike him and his team more than I do....you get pretty close though Gem. :-D

I hope they manage to force the scum running their club out. So the Huddersfield fans who paid for tickets and travelled there have to suffer? Go on answer me that? It's f**king selfish if you ask me. Plus there were also many Blackpool favs who weren't involved, there to watch the football.

But surely you agree that they should have waited until after? Why should the Huddersfield fans have to suffer when they've taken time, paid for travel, tickets etc?
May 4, 201511 yr But surely you agree that they should have waited until after? Why should the Huddersfield fans have to suffer when they've taken time, paid for travel, tickets etc? I'm really uncomfortable with anything like this in stadiums, we've all seen tragedies. There is a huge amount of people and when the aggrieved aren't thinking it could put so many at risk. I don't like the game and its fans being seen in this light. Edited May 4, 201511 yr by Droogba
May 4, 201511 yr So the Huddersfield fans who paid for tickets and travelled there have to suffer? Go on answer me that? It's f**king selfish if you ask me. Plus there were also many Blackpool favs who weren't involved, there to watch the football. Huddersfield had next to nothing to play for and what's happening in that league is a scandal so I genuinely think every proper supporter would stand shoulder to shoulder with the Blackpool fans protesting, if not simply to demonstrate that football fans won't take their owners being absent in their duty to their supporters. Honestly mate, go read what's been going on and read the Blackpool supporters forum (which I think is still facing legal action from the Oystons). I'm really uncomfortable with anything like this in stadiums, we've all seen tragedies. There is a huge amount of people and when the aggrieved aren't thinking it could put so many at risk. I don't like the game and its fans being seen in this light. I'm sorry, but when there are tragedies at football grounds, do you know where the safest place is?? On the pitch, in the centre circle. The greatest danger facing those fans was stepping in a divot and twisting their ankle. But too much handwringing going on when football supporters are fighting for the survival of their football club. As a club who aren't far removed from their own club going under (for different reasons) I'm amazed.
May 4, 201511 yr I thought nobody could dislike him and his team more than I do....you get pretty close though Gem. :-DSweetie is an unhealthy obsession I must admit, once he's gone and hopefully removed from the English media's love I'll settle down ;-)

So becausI they had nothing to play for that makes it Ok? Sorry but that's pure tripe. They are supporters who had paid to see their club doesn't matter if it's a league match, cup final or pre season game. They have a right to be able to watched their team play. I actually shouldn't be surprised you have this attitude with the way you demean certain trophies. I don't have to read it, they should find another way or as I said do it when the match is finished. Nit be so selfish as to stop a match from finishing.

Good thing I'm above turning that around on you isn't it? I don't have to read it, they should find another way or as I said do it when the match is finished. Nit be so selfish as to stop a match from finishing. And what is this other way? The fact that you say that 'you don't have to read it' sums you up. There's a really short post a few pages back that bullet points what the owners have done. I have sympathy for the Huddersfield fans but when you're watching your club being dismantled and left to rot then what exactly would you do?
