September 1, 201411 yr It may have been mentioned on the thread already - apologies if so..but wasnt a heart defect discovered on his medical for Marseille in 2010? Edited September 1, 201411 yr by Blue Exile
September 1, 201411 yr Good signing for a fair price. Looked good at Toon last season but so did Ba before he arrived Bit of a sick note but he's cover so ok Scum utd paying only 6 mill fee to loan Falcao must be paying him silly wages, he wouldn't have come here to warm the bench Overall the strikers we have vastly superior to last season now. Let's win some trophies please
September 1, 201411 yr what about this heart condition? Is it serious? I am more concerned that he could suffer a cardiac arrest on the field given how much mourinho works the players. I would hate for another fabrice muamba situation to occur. Edited September 1, 201411 yr by enigma

I would hate for another fabrice muamba situation to occur. Jose said something about consulting a specialist about it and he's satisfied that it isn't an issue. I'm sure Eva will take good care of him.

I would hate for another fabrice muamba situation to occur. He's been around for a while now and has played at the highest international level, if he does have some sort of defect theres always the faint possibility but I doubt he'd want it to ruin his career. In the aftermath of the Cech and Muamba situations I think medical teams are generally a lot better at handling such things too.
September 1, 201411 yr So Happy with this transfer market. He's a good signing and brings much needed depth up front. I am feeling more confident about things this year than a few years prior.
September 1, 201411 yr Agreed, but also the reason he could never be successful at Chelsea was that he seems unwilling to be second choice at any team. I can understand he's young and wants game time, but he never seemed willing to fight against Torres, Eto'o and Ba for number one spot, and so he looked for a loan option. If he keeps that attitude, and is unwilling to have to fight his way up a pecking order, he will never succeed at any club with title ambitions. Agreed. I just don't get where he thinks that he is THAT good that he should be first choice for one of the biggest club in the world. I think deep down he knows he isn't and that going to Everton was a good way for him to hide that fact he would never have made the grade. All about saving face.
September 1, 201411 yr I'm not too familiar with him, is he really good? I've read on another forum he can be compared to BA. I would like to see Destro playing for Chelsea.
September 2, 201411 yr The "Remy is the new Ba" has gotten annoying faster than the "Lukaku is the new Drogba" did...
September 2, 201411 yr He's not a remotely similar player to Ba. Far quicker, far better balance, far less likely to fall over and strike the ball with 6 body parts before it goes in. Can score with both feet or his head in equal measures, better from outside the box than Ba and more clinical inside it. I'd say the only thing Ba has on him is better strength and ability to hold up the ball, aside from that Remy has him beat in about every department.
September 2, 201411 yr ^ Even that's debatable- the first rule of holding up a ball is getting it under control
September 2, 201411 yr He also wins the prize for footballer with the weirdest website http://www.loic-remy.com/ edit: For those of you time wasting at work, i'd turn my speakers off before opening it. Edited September 2, 201411 yr by Jonty
September 2, 201411 yr Watching that highlights video of him, I never knew he was that good at striking a ball. I am surprised that he hasn't got to the levels of other top strikers; some of those goals were delicious. Edited September 2, 201411 yr by enigma
September 2, 201411 yr Very pacey direct forward who can finish with either foot. He'll be more than just second fiddle to Costa and will actually threaten to take the Striker role in the first xi. This guy up front with through balls from fabregas will be beautiful. We have 2 very good CF's in the team now who both have different qualities. Remy is more technically astute and would be an excellent option as a second striker in a game we are trailing but being honest the way Chelsea have looked in our opening games I don't see us trailing many games over the course of the season.
September 2, 201411 yr Author The "Remy is the new Ba" has gotten annoying faster than the "Lukaku is the new Drogba" did... Agreed, they're not even similar players. I honestly think that its only been said because they both played for Newcastle.
September 2, 201411 yr Watched him a few times, only on tv, but from what I've seen its a genuine bargain. He looks the type who'll do well in the Champions League. Just love the start of a new season.
September 2, 201411 yr We're not going to get a better 'number 2' striker for that money with Premier League experience. Very happy with this signing.
September 2, 201411 yr I think the signing of Remy moves Drogba from number two to the number three striker. I do wonder if there will be games that we wont even see DD on the bench this season now we have Remy.
September 2, 201411 yr I think the signing of Remy moves Drogba from number two to the number three striker. I do wonder if there will be games that we wont even see DD on the bench this season now we have Remy. I’m sure Didier knew the situation when he came or rather what the plan was going to be. I think we will see him in certain games where we require a bully or battering ram against teams who are frustrating us. I’d like to see him and Remy play in the league cup too.
September 2, 201411 yr ^ Even that's debatable- the first rule of holding up a ball is getting it under control Ba holds up play by the lesser known strategy of confusing his opponents, and his team mates...

I do wonder if there will be games that we wont even see DD on the bench this season now we have Remy. Remy can also play wide so I wouldn't be suprized if it affected salah's place on the bench as well as Drogba's.
September 2, 201411 yr Author Remy us a shrewd signing, look at the way we've been playing, you put Remy on the end of those chances and sane result. Been sick of hearing jealous opposing fans (and Redknapp) say he won't get a game. Do they really think we can only have one striker with Drogba as a backup all season? There are a hell of a lot of games in a season.
