Welcome Loic Remy

You have to keep in mind the type of teams we are facing. Remy is a great striker in a particular type of system which provides him space to exploit. When the opposition is defending he is simply not as effective. Say what you will about Drogba but if we need to break down a team his hold up play, heading ability come into the fold.

Well we wouldn't really know if he is good against these defences or not, he's not been given a chance to prove himself.

I'm basing my opinion on the teams he played for, whenever the teams in questions were favorites and weren't counter attacking Remy wasn't as effective.

It's no good trying to base an opinion on the limited times he has played for us.

I dont care if Didier is 36. Drogba is the more complete, all round player. He is better than Remy and that's why Mourinho plays him ahead of Remy.

I don't think drogs is better but he certainly offers us something different off the bench

Truely I don't even think its a question. Is Remy better in the air? No. Does he hold the ball up better? No. Does he have an immense physical presence? No. Does he offer as much defensively? No. Is he better finisher? Don't think so.

The only two things Remy has over Didier is age and pace. Well so does Salah and I wouldn't put him on the pitch before Drogba either.

You've just played 80 minutes against Diego Costa battering you all over the pitch, he's number goes up and you breathe a sigh of relief that he's going off... But what's this? The human battering ram that is Didier Drogba is coming on to rough you up (just ask Jonathan Walters).

It must be the last thing defenders want after going 12 rounds with Costa.

Agree with this. Assuming drogba retires at the end of the season, I hope we replace him with another warrior, someone like benteke.

Remy is a good option though and he offers something different, and I'm suprise he hasn't seen more minutes, as he can play wide aswell.

His movement is also better than Drogs and I would add touch into that. Drogs has lost it a bit but Jose knows what he's doing

His touch is better!!!!!!! You can't be serious?

His movement might be quicker but quicker doesn't mean better. If you are not moving into the right positions it counts for nothing. A certain Mr Torres proved that.

Remy looks a decent enough player but he is not, nor ever will be, acknowledged as one of the greatest strikers in the world. Drogba has been there, done it and the tee shirt actually has his face on it. Even at 36 has still got loads to give and already scored important goals for us.

I don't think it's that he's underrated, we just haven't seen much of him to really judge if he's better or worse than Drogba.

Remy is the better player these days. This is not the Drogba of 5/6 years. Yes he's scored important goals but his all round play has hardly been superb, people berated him in a few games before he scored on these forms. It's interesting that people also berate Schurrle for his overall contribution to a game even though he's good offensively, people seem to choose what they acknowledge and what they don't depending on who it is.

Like jack said, hugely underrated on here.

All I can say is thank God Mourinho is our manager and gets to make these decisions.

If he has got one call wrong this season it was not bringing Drogba on earlier against the Barcodes. Completely changed the game when he came on.
