I agree. Understandable from thhe point of building team spirit and mental strength but football wise it has held the team back. He will give you the odd goal but is a man running on just experience now and nothing much more. Mourinho's strength is also a big weakness this season bease he's averse to risk and always opts for the trusted rather than try the new unknown and get them become the trusted. As much as I like him I think it's absolutely ridiculous to play Drogba ahead of Remy or Zouma a defender in midfield rather than Aké or RLC. Why not start Remy and bring on Costa after 70 mins instead of the current pattern that's obviously not working and been totally sussed out by the opposition

To me it just seems as if Mourinho doesn't rate him and it wasn't his signing. I think Remy has done well in the games he has had, i would like maybe one game to try him upfront in a diamond with Costa and Hazard playing behind them.

I think he should play against Southampton, he need a chance

Loic Remy is a good player. He scores goals and he's got about 400 minutes in the league which is ridiculous, despite scoring against City.

 

And Jose didn't want to make the change I don't think. Costa came off because he was injured. 

Hopefully ahead of Drogba until the end of the season now.

Not the best goal he'll ever score but perhaps the most important.

Agreed. Really great attitude. Loved his comments after the game.

Please don't sell him Jose.. you won't get a better second striker than him, at least for the price paid.

I am not one to give Jose much stick as he is Chelsea through and through and a truly legendary manager. In this case my first reaction is a sarcastic "no really??!!!"

 

Remy, for me, is worlds away from being Demba Ba. Do not get me wrong Demba will always be in our hearts for the moments he gave us against PSG and Liverpool in particular but Remy is a proper finisher. I feel sad in facing the likely reality he leaves our club when he has much to offer and Jose is often blind to using him.

 

When our creativity is often limited to Hazard, Cesc, Hazard, Hazard etc why can we not find a way to give Remy games? We DO NOT have to drop Costa to achieve that, nor do we need to play Remy as a winger. Remy can play WITH Costa, the Drog can be your back up battering ram bench option.

Let Costa wonder, go left, go right, he already does it on a regular basis. Then you have Remy, in the box, waiting for the knock downs and through balls. 

 

Not for every game but surely our back four and some combination of 4 midfield players in front of them can offer us enough stability to allow us to give Remy game time and beat the likes of Stoke and QPR!

 

I just hate seeing such a gifted finisher and player wasted. Rant over.

If given a chance to play together I really think they can be. Costa works his socks off but that often means he is out of position when we are looking to put the ball in the box. With Remy in there that is not a problem anymore.

 

Play them together Jose, think of it as preparation for when Bamford is back. When Remy needs a rest or is out, Bamford up front with Costa. I like the sound of that. It excites me to imagine our side playing with Matic, Cesc and Hazard looking to feed Costa, Remy and in the future, Bamford. Maybe the 4th midfielder could even be RLC in a few years too.

Now did he mean together, as a forward two of some sort or Costa up top and Remy out where Willian was?

yep, exactly that. Though he said he was going to move Willian in behind Remy and Costa and play cuadrado wide. would love to know who he was going to take of, ramires would be one but God knows who else.

What Jose says I tend to take with a pinch of salt.

 

However if he means that then I hope that is a thought he goes with more in the future.
