Krc-fan Posted April 1, 2015 Author Posted April 1, 2015 Another clean sheet! And man of the match. Droogba 1
Chelsbear Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 They were pretty poor last night to be honest. For the players they have they just flatter to decieve most of the time IMO.
Krc-fan Posted April 1, 2015 Author Posted April 1, 2015 Yeah, they were, Chelsbear. It was not good.
Scott Harris Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 They were pretty poor last night to be honest. For the players they have they just flatter to decieve most of the time IMO. They remind me of England. So many good players but they can't seem to get it right for their country.
Chelsbear Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 (edited) They remind me of England. So many good players but they can't seem to get it right for their country.Yeah that's what I was thinking about too. When England had Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard, JT, Cole and so on all in their peak but always fell well short. Now you have Belgium with Courtois, Hazard, De Bruyne, Kompany and a few others and they don't look to be anything special at all. This is their 'golden' generation and so far they have not really impressed me. Edited April 1, 2015 by Chelsbear
Stim Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Tbf wasn't the same said of the Spanish national team before it all clicked together?
Chelsbear Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Tbf wasn't the same said of the Spanish national team before it all clicked together? It clicked together because players like Torres, Villa, Iniesta, Pique etc came into the mix. Spain were usually good to watch in any case before that, Belgium look a very ordinary side. They have not really improved since the World Cup which was also below par from them in terms of performance. They can of course turn it around and grow into a real force but I don't really see them doing that if I'm honest.
Bobbywoodhogan Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 They remind me of England. So many good players but they can't seem to get it right for their country. They don't gel, that's what bugs me when people say ENGLAND should have won something with the playera like JT, Lamps, Gerrard etc they didn't because a lot of them didn't gel together (the backline did however) and that was something the managers failed to see. They always picked the same players over and over and not realising yes that player might not be better than this one at club level but he will give the team a better balance. There is also the case of the players who actually are more suited to the International game than the club one who can provide a better option for the national side.

The thing about that is the manager would get crucified by the press if they started dropping Beckham, Gerrard, Lampard etc who were the top players in Europe at the time. The press built up the England team back then a crazy amount so you can see why managers kept trying to find some kind of method to get it right. Probably should have tried more players and make the unit as solid and effective as possible but you don’t get much time when the expectations are so high in the job like that. Roy at lease has been given time to try new things and I think the FA have now learned from past failures that there is no quick fix to get it right and it will require patience and time. The media too have also taken this view on it too which helps.

The beat managers take risks and I think England needed someone like that with that group of players. I actually think Roy Hodgson has the England job at the perfect time cause now he can pretty much chop and change where he wants. I actually hope he gets a new contract cause as last night proved he's willing to try things out.

ashwin Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Wilmots is just a very bad coach. He has no idea how to get the best out of those players. DidierDrogbalala and Blue Daze 2
Krc-fan Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 Made his full debut in my team exactly six years ago. Since then: 262 games, 118 clean sheets, 6 trophies! My God! Thibaut! Schitterend, man!
Krc-fan Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 My deepest congratulations, Thibaut! Well done! Unbelievable! What are you doing, Genkie?
Krc-fan Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 Schitterend!

Chelsbear Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Congratulations to Thibaut on the birth of his new baby daughter Adriana. What a year it's been for the big man.

Englishman Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Damn right! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/11666674/Chelsea-scare-off-Real-Madrid-with-73m-Thibaut-Courtois-price-tag.html If Real offered around £40m for Courtois I'd take it. We get to keep Cech, have an extra £40m to spend improving the team and everyone's happy. Except Arsenal, but who cares about them.
