I had to vote for Cesc - anyone could see him struggling out there w/ his broken nose, but he kept on keeping on - Yes he didn't have the greatest of matches, but he did influence the match - my hat is off to him - btw how did he get his broken nose in the first place?

Charlie Adam forearmed him, how he didn't get a red for it I don't know

Hazard and Willian outstanding.

Also, have to mention Gary Cahill. Has taken a lot of flak lately, but today he was absolutely faultless.

Azpi, Fabregas and Remy were all very good too.

Oscar, Drogba and Cuadrado, not so much.

My assessment exactly with Haz m.o.m. Quite simply the best chelsea player (ever?)

No, Not yet. But I believe Eddie at one point can reach that status.

I think best Chelsea player ever would be Franky.

Only saw some brief highlights of the game, and I am sure Hazard was once again the outstanding performer (he is not the best player in the premier league by some distance for no reason), but there is something about a striker being in the right place at the right time to finish off all important chances for us.

2 winners in 2 games, take a bow Lorc Remy. Out from the cold and leaving me with no fears while Diego is injured. So long as we have Remy we have someone who will get us goals.

Hazard -amazing.

Willian second, great work rate, created the second goal, but let down by poor set piece delivery.

Thug of the day, pick one of many Stoke players

Depends what constitutes best ever? Lamps played over a long period of time, scored 200 odd goals, won everything and was instrumental in winning everything.

But the most technically gifted, skilful player to wear the shirt of Chelsea is Gianfranco Zola...it's not close either for me.

What? That's a joke

Yep, Fabregas going off for treatment didn't even feature in the highlights. If you didn't watch the game you wouldn't have known that it happened because of MOTD's crap highlights. You can guarantee that if Diego Costa was the one elbowing a player they would have shown it. They obviously didn't want Charlie Adam to look bad because of his goal

Hazard followed by Willian. Honourable mentions for the defence who were all pretty much faultless with the goal being Courtois' or no one's fault, whichever way you look at it.

He should have been sent off before that wonder goal...but match of the day pick and choose who are the bad boys of football when it suits their agenda it seems

Yesterday Hoddle said that when Adams raised his arm and caught Cesc, that because the arm was straight and no elbow sticking out, it was unintentional.

Well I disagree with him totally, if you raise your arm above shoulder level (ie in the face/neck area) then you deserve whatever comes your way, you can use your arm to shield no problem, but not when you raise it so high it becomes a WWF style clothes line.

At least we had Gullit in who praised our play though, makes a change

Mate where did you see Gullit reviewing the match? Here in the States they are mostly gooners or manure lovers. Ok maybe some lpuke followers, but most commentators hate CFC because "of the pragmatic approach". I wonder if Kevin O'Keene is their show producers or something. It like they are regurgitating everything he post here on this site :face_palm:

I guess Cesc just got a cut on the bridge of his nose

When I saw him go off the pitch & keep messing w/ his nose, I was certain that he broke it. I didn't see the play when it actually happened. I was at work & totally distracted, so I couldn't give my 100% attention to everything going on the pitch. The match was showing nationally here in the States. Man I am sure lucky to be a CFC fan. I can almost catch every match on TV.

He was on Match of the Day.

Worth it for that but no mention of the thuggery of Stoke

It goes par for the course mate - 22 fouls compared to CFC's 5 :o I used to laugh when the other clubs complained about Stoke City tactics, but I wasn't laughing yesterday. I thought Sparky was going to remove that tactic from Stoke City's repertoire? Looks like the same tactic that Pulis used when he rolled the balls out to that side <_<

Yeah it wasn't nice to watch at all, I truly feared we'd end up with injuries later during the game, thankfully we didn't (well apart from Costa but that was a hamstring)
