New strikers for next season

Featured Replies

Mandzukic is average.

Can't agree with that personally.

20 goals in 32 appearances for Atletico this season.

He scored something like 50 goals in 90 appearances for Munich.

He's a pretty consistent striker, that said I doubt he would come to Chelsea to play 2nd string to Diego.

I'd take Mandzukic, but unless we're happy to pay way above his market value can't see Atletico being willing to sell.

Would love to see Ibra in for Drogs personally, but realistically wouldn't be surprised if we sign Adebayor or Zamora.

Mandzukic is an excellent all-round striker, magnificent in a pressing side too, I reckon Mourinho would love to have him.

I had him down as something of a flat-track bully, but this season he has seemingly scored twice against Real, and once each against Barca and Valencia. Gets an obsene number of bookings though. But FC is right, he is far too good to be playing second fiddle.

^^He isnt world class.

Well that's just unrealistic, we ain't going to get a world class striker to play 2nd fiddle to Diego Costa.

Remy is a very good striker that can score important goals, we would be very lucky to get anyone better that is willing to play the same role as Remy.

Costa

Remy

Bamford

Traore

That'll do me, no money spent on strikers, means more money available to try and get Bale and Pobga.

---------------------------Matic/Mikel----------------

--------------------Pobga/Ramires/RLC-----Cesc/Oscar/RLC

Bale/Willian/Cuadrado/Traore-------------------------Hazard/Bale/Remy

-----------------Costa/Remy/Bamford/Traore

Is traore even a striker?

I thought he was an attacking midfielder?

He was initially a winger but has been playing as a centre forward for Vitesse, and has scored a bucketload ever since the conversion.

@Scott Harris. It is realistic to have a bunch of world class strikers. Man Utd have 3 world class strikers, RVP, Falcao and Rooney.

PSG have Cavani and Zlatan.

Real Madrid had Benzema and Higuain.

Liverpool had Sturridge and Suarez

Man City had Tevez and Aguero

There are caveats to that though.

Both Liverpool and City regularly play[ed] 4-4-2, which enabled both of their star strikers to start. PSG have had to shoehorn Cavani into a wide role so they can accommodate him and Ibrahimovic at the same time without sacrificing their shape or structure; this has failed to get the best out of him. And Real Madrid are Real Madrid, I won't attempt to rationalise their transfer policies, then again I wouldn't say that Higuain is a world-clas striker.

Costa, Ibrahimovic, Balotelli.

Ibrahimovic is getting old now and he would be asking for a lot of money, i doubt he would want to play 2nd fiddle to Diego Costa. Plus, he's a bit of a dick, he has too much of an ego.

Remy is better than Balotelli. I actually can't believe anybody still wants Balotelli, he's always been overrated and this season has proven just how average he is. He's full of himself and has a terrible attitude on the field. I actually can't think of a single good thing that would come out of signing Balotelli.

The difference is that all of these played pretty much every game for their club, that wouldn't happen here. I also wouldn't call Falcao and Van Persie world class anymore. Falcao has had a really poor season at United and Van Persie's injuries are catching up with him. I don't expect any of these 2 to be at United next season.

A lot of people saying Bamford but i think Bamford could do with a loan to PL side next year. Maybe another year with middlesborough if they earn promotion. He deserves and needs a lot of playing time, and if Costa recovers from his hamstring issues Bamford won't be featuring much at all next year.

So did Piazon to be fair, not a great indication by any means.

I wasn't really serious, but that trio would bring circus for sure  :laugh2:

Anyway, wouldn't mind Ibrahimovic if I'm honest, but Bamford or Brown would be really great to see at our bench next season, and I'm sure one of them would have enough chance to prove himself especially considering injury record of Costa and Remy.
