Chelsea vs Manchester United (PL) 18/04/2015 KO: 17:30 GMT

Featured Replies

Just looked at our remaining games and it very well could be the pool game decides it. Remember last season, what happened and all the taunting towards Gerrard we could face them in a similar scenario...

Big game for Cahill dealing with Fellaini and his elbows.

Personally think this is a game for Oscar over Ramires.

And Matic & Fabregas have to get stuck in. The suspensions are near enough inevitable and there's never a good time. United would punish us if they dance around 50-50s like they have been.

Manchester United has been changed for positive, their players are in good form and this match will be very tough. We're not in our best form but we can still play good and win the game. We have to win this, very important points. I hope players will gain more will, motivation and power to win this match.

I'd like to see:

Courtois

Ivanovic

Cahill

Terry

Azpi

Matic

Fabregas

Willian

Oscar

Hazard

Remy (if fit)

Glad we're at home for this, I feel a lot more confident about this game than I did against Hull, Stoke and QPR. Hopefully they come at us and Hazard runs riot.

Some luck we have that all our opponents are in top form and confidence during the run in, I think for the United and Arsenal games we're going to be defensive most of the game and this time I won't complain.

They can't be banned now

Think people are going a bit over the top in the media with United at the moment, yes they're playing well and it will be a very difficult game, but it should not take until April to get £200+ million team nailed on to finish top four.

They are playing brilliantly and we're playing quite poorly, but we still manage to win games. I think their defence is very average and we will test it, which is what they didn't get from Spurs, Liverpool or even City really. Despite the fact City walked around the pitch for most of the match, they still managed to score two goals.

We're so close now

Some may disagree with me here but this is a must win game...for Man United not for us. A must win game for them if they harbor ambition to knock us off top spot.

Why is it a must win game for them and not for us you may ask? Currently United sit 8 points behind us having played a game more, and have 6 matches left this season. A maximum points tally of 18.

If United fail to beat us at the Bridge, such as the scoreline suggested by Izanagi, then the gap stays at 8 points, and they have 15 left to play for, while we still have one extra game.

Think about it, 8 point gap. Even if we were to lose that game in hand United would still need to win all of their remaining games, including beating Arsenal to make sure they move ahead of them as well, and, in addition to us losing that game in hand we would need to lose another 3 games as well as United finishing with a perfect record.

So yeah we do not have to win this one. Just like our trip to Arsenal we just have to make sure we do not lose. Pressure is on them to win it, a rare position for us.

That being said though I think we can win it and if we do and go 11 clear of United then it is truly game over for their title chances. Putting Arsenal 10 behind with both sides having 18 points left to play for after that stage would also make it very, very hard for them as well.

Probably the best rationally thought out analysis for the remaining games, great post axman2526  ::clap2::

Quite strangely, I'm confident we will win. I know our performances of late haven't been great, but I think the players and Mourinho will be fired up for this. Most Utd fans seem over-confident, but I trust Jose in big games. 2-1  Chelsea!!!

Hoping for a good game with goals from both teams and no drama or unnecessary injuries or suspensions on either side.

This feels weird. We don't want to damage United too much and they might want the same as we both still have to play Arsenal.

Will be very content with a score draw, or a narrow win for us.

Feel less nervous about this game than the QPR match. They are doing well, but this is the type of game where we get to play with a bit of room, rather than against a bunch of big strong tacklers on a narrow pitch. The players will be up for this big game, and I fancy a 2:0, a OG and a last minute Hazard goal.

Their best players are Fellani and Ashley Young. We should win this game!

Who are both massively improved from last season. Agree that we should win though.

Hazard against Valencia should be fun.

We can win and this will be totally different game to QPR game. They play open so we have much more space to exploit. Remy, Hazard, Cesc will play a key role.

Defensively it will be extremely tough. Ivan and Azpi are nailed on starters but I would start Zouma ahead of Cahill. He has more legs. We are facing some really pacy players and Ivan needs more cover for Young.

Cahill has been excellent of late, there is no way Jose drops him for such a big match.

I'm not sure who are these really pacy players you refer to? Rooney, Mata, Fellaini, Herrera are not pacy players. Young has pace but is not blistering either.

As long as Remy is fit then I believe we'll win, especially with Matic clear of yellow cards and Cesc and Oscar stepping up their games. I feel optimistic after yesterday's win; buoyant, even.

United are obviously on a good run of form and right now I would happily take a draw from this game.

Not because I'm worried about United beating us but because I think it's a decent result for our title challenge.

If we were to draw this and the Arsenal game and then win our game in hand against Leicester then I think the fat lady will be wearing her Chelsea replica shirt, clearing her throat and getting ready to belt one out.

Fingers crossed Remy is fit to start this one because clearly a 37 year Drogba just doesn't have the legs to be starting matches any more.
