Chelsea vs Manchester United (PL) 18/04/2015 KO: 17:30 GMT

sorry had to correct this :face_palm:

we can lose to United and Arsenal, and lose to Liverpool and we still win the title with wins against Palace, West Brom, Leicester and Sunderland

(this assumes Arsenal win all their games including the trip to Old Trafford)

Depends on Van Gaal's ego. If United turn up for a football match they'll get beat. If they play on the break and foul Hazard and Fabregas at every opportunity then they might nick it.

Another United fan here.

From my perspective, neither team really has that much to lose here. You are pretty much guaranteed the title and we, fingers crossed, are secure in the top four. Most United fans are surprisingly confident about this game though, considering how badly we have played at times this season and considering how bad we have been against Mourinho. Van Gaal seems to have a knack of doing well in the big games (only having lost to City away this season in the league).

On the teams, I'd imagine we'd set up as we have done against Spurs, the Scousers, City and Villa. Our midfield trio of Herrera, Fellaini and Carrick is the heart of the team and can deal with a lot of pressure. In fact it helps us as it creates space up front and we don't tend to lose the ball when other teams press us. If you sit back though, we may have problems, as not many in the team are capable of dribbling past a player or two to create space against a compact defence.

For you, I'm glad Costa isn't playing as he would have given Jones a real issue. Smalling could probably match him for strength and definitely for pace though. That's why I think Smalling/Jones will do well against Remy. The real space where you will have room is Hazard vs Valencia. That really scares me.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho could try to stop Marouane Fellaini by using Kurt Zouma in midfield against Manchester United, says Jamie Carragher

Welcome.

Is Michael Carrick fit to play? I suppose Blind is pretty good backup but in our case it is vital that Remy is fit for this one.

Van Gaal said he expects him to be fit but will update you on that later in the week.

This will certainly be a good test for the two teams.

Although a draw would suit us, going out there and playing for a draw is a poor mentality and likely punished.

Ramires and ivanovic should be able to bottle up Ashley young, and mata is one midfielder that fabregas can match physically.

Drogba may have benefitted from the full 90 minutes last week, but clearly is not up to the remainder of the teams standard any more.

Hazard I hope can offer more than against qpr.

Looking forward to this one.

Any solid news on Remy? If anybody thinks Mou will set up for anything other than a stake mate they don't know Mou, a draw is not just the point and depriving them of two it's one more game off the list for anyone to catch us, it would make it impossible for Man U and we will go for the same against arsenal, draw those two and the title is ours, he will not risk a loss, no way, with this in mind Remy would be important for countering drog is way too slow
