hazard up front certainly has the pace and footwork to cause problems, especially against mertesacker. It's a bold tactic, but let's see how it pans out.

? I don't really get what a false 9 is to be honest.

No Zouma as I predicted. Not really a game were you want him in midfield this. Hazard as a false 9?

I would assume so. They'll look to have lots of quick short passes to get around the traffic cones that are their centre-halves.

I know this will sound negative but I hate when we play with a false 9 and no striker. We usually look toothles.

Remember how bad we were at juve with Hazard playing there?

Strange, shows no faith in the younger boys which is not great IMO.

I'm glad Drogs ain't playing as he's a passenger of late but I can't see how we will set up unless Cesc plays the false 9?

I think this lineup had to be done. Drogba has been terrible this season and will be a liability in a game like this.

Given our recent run of look with strikers may just be Solanke got injured in training.

Drogba on the bench ok, other than that I beg to differ, he worked hard last time out and 90% tackle success this season?

Would like to see him and a youngster later in the game.

Can't really write it off based on one or two matches away against tough opposition. 

 

Also, assuming Hazard is playing false 9, he's a totally different beast now. Well suited to that role imo.

Bad news - As already mentioned, been toothless without a striker whenever it's been done previously.

Good news - Fabregas could be the false 9, and could get himself a goal today.

Who is he supposed to play though? José watched the Utd game same as the rest of us, we cant start Drogba. Coming off the bench against a tired defebse he might offer something. We are going to set up to exploit them on the counter and wont have that much need of a striker imo. And no starting Solanke here would not be a good idea
