Meh, too many shooters for me. I thought EA had a bit more Variety. I like South Park and Track Mania but i wasn't interested in anything else.

 

the for honor game looked pretty sweet too, but yeah i got too much hyped from the southpark reveal really caught me off guard

 

btw shemue kickstarter already on $1.7million on the first 5hour 

looks like they can crack 4mil if it goes on like this

I dont think backwards compatibility will do much to be honest, I never understood why it bothered people in the first place, I would think a very low percentage of gamers will use it more than a couple of times.

$4m will also do very little for a game like that, it will barely scratch the surface. I expect its basically Sony testing the waters to see if its worth doing, remember the originals didn't really sell that well.

Oh fair enough. To be honest I'd say most casual gamers don't really care about that. I've been on MS since 360, have bought pretty much every COD bar the Black Ops games and didn't even know such a deal existed. 

Bit surprised by the lack of games for this years release by Sony. Quick check and they showed an ff hd remake, shenmue 3 you can fund, no man's land which I still have no idea what it is, New open world ghosts game, New hitman. Was that it? Only really hitman would interest me, I just can't see shenmue getting made unfortunately, be bloody great if they do.

Just seen shenmue starter is for 2 million dollars, that won't make much. What's that about?

 

It was a very Microsoft-esque showing from Sony, lots of focus on 3rd party studios which always makes it feel like there isn't much going on with their 1st parties. 

 

Last Guardian finally being confirmed was great but there is still no firm release date 7 years after it was originally revealed, all we know is it's releasing in 2016 so it's still a long way off.

 

I love the Uncharted series and Naughty Dog can do no wrong in my eyes but again Uncharted 4 isn't out until next year and so there is no AAA exclusives to look forward to for the rest of the year.

 

No Man's Sky looks a superb concept but I still have no idea what the overall point is... I think I would get quite bored just flying place to place with no real objective.

 

Exclusive access to DLC is of no interest to me as I rarely buy it anyway.

 

Not the worst conference ever but nothing to really get excited about either.

 

Fallout 4 and Doom remain the games I am most excited for.

Yeah me either.

I still have my PS3 set up in the bedroom (DVD player) so if I wanted to play my favourite games from last gen I would just use that.

You shouldn't really want to play them anyway given there's new game and console out.

My first thought was, if you own a bunch of 360 games, surely you still own your console too? 

 

The hype about backwards compatibility was kind of lost on me. 

Haven't been into games as much as I used to but picked up a PS4 the other day and E3 probably confirmed I made the right choice. They seem to have given all the 'gamers' exactly what they want, literally a wishlist of upcoming titles. 

 

For me, Star Wars Battlefront looks exceptional, Uncharted looks like more Uncharted which is no bad thing and this Horizon game looks very promising indeed. Plus they got the COD deal that Microsoft had last time out which is good for the 'casual' gamer.

 

 

 

Personally I think Backwards Compatibility is a nice thing to have but when that's the thing people are talking about most then you're probably not getting the victory you want.

Unfortunately good story lines are pretty rare, it's a secondary consideration a lot of the time. 

 

I could probably count the number of games I've played that I felt had great stories on one hand but if the game play is good and entertaining I don't really care.

Hopefully not. The two things it brought to mind were Shadow of the Colossus and Last of Us so if it can channel those two and have the gameplay as well, then who knows?

Sure a massive game with the freedom to do whatever you want sounds good in theory, but with no real goals, very little chance of meeting other players, all you'll be doing is flying around visiting planets and having a look at them. And as beautiful as they may be, I can't see that remaining interesting for all that long.

He was so f**king nervous and he was visibly shaking throughout his presentation but the passion was clear and the audience connected with that and although it wasn't the most professional showing it was great to see someone show off something they were clearly proud of.

From the videos i've watched it seems that sometimes you'll run into battles in space, or space cops. You'll need to find resources to upgrade your ship to a better one, and you'll be able to buy upgrades with credits which you earn by exploring, fighting, etc...

 

But it's still all quite vague, with no real goals to achieve.

One of the beeps is FFVII, another is very likely to be Kingdom Hearts 3. Sounds like there's at least 2 games that won't have been shown anywhere yet. 

 

The fact that the background music is a remix of Frog's theme from Chrono Trigger implies a new Chrono game and there's a new Dragon Quest game in development (but I'd be amazed if that was unveiled in the US rather than at a Japanese event).

Backwards compatibility is great for me. Loads of old 360 games that I will occasionally get the urge to play but a 360 that I've had since 2006 and only really works when it feels like it. Can't wait to play Fifa 10 on my xbone.

Not every game will work with it either as they are aiming for around 100 titles to begin with.

However they will continue to add new games after launch.

LOL except travelling by rail in this country is exremely costly. For a one-off payment we will be given a whole universe to explore.

 

I don't think there will be any narrative to speak of whatsoever. Not that sort of game, more along the lines of Minecraft than Mass Effect.

I think it has huge potential and the way it creates galaxies is impressive but give me Mass Effect and limited galaxies with a great storyline (ignoring the ending) over this....if it is what it seems to be.
