August 2, 20169 yr Anyone been watching Stranger Things? Good show! Finished it last night, loved every moment of it. Synth! Synth synth
August 2, 20169 yr Started watching Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip as I wanted to watch something written by Sorkin, and I was sick of West Wing re-runs (and the Apple/Facebook stuff doesn't look like it would particularly appeal to me). Seems pretty amusing so far, has a similar critique of television to the Newsroom, but better acting and without the unwarranted air of superiority. Never heard of that before, it sounds like something I might enjoy.
August 2, 20169 yr ehh i really like stranger things until episode 5, when it became a straight forward man vs alien flick with a lot of dumb corny writing towards the end was expecting more with all the mysteries and the psychological drama building it
August 2, 20169 yr Recently starting watching the BBC series The Living and The Dead, starts off quite slow but really picks up from episode 5 onwards. Shame there's only 6 episodes.
August 3, 20169 yr I just wanted to mention that I liked Mr Robot before it was popular on here... Seriously??? Why would you do that? I liked it before anyone else....LOL you sound like a 2yr old.
August 4, 20169 yr Seriously??? Why would you do that? I liked it before anyone else....LOL you sound like a 2yr old. Thanks, that was kind of the idea.
August 4, 20169 yr Season 3 of Bojack Horseman and the newest season of Archer on Netflix. Both of a good standard so far, about halfway through each.
August 4, 20169 yr Season 3 of Bojack Horseman and the newest season of Archer on Netflix. Both of a good standard so far, about halfway through each. I've got both of them to look forward to. Bojack Horseman is the best thing Netflix have done. I've watched the first few episodes of Preacher this week and it's ok so far. I love Woody from This Is England as the Irish vampire but I'm not sold on the casting for the Preacher character. I actually find him quite irritating. I think it's because of his trendy quiff haircut and immaculately trimmed beard, he just doesn't look the part.

For the majority of the season, personally, I think Preacher is portrayed poorly compared to the source material. I don't think Dominic Cooper players Jessie badly and he comes into his own a bit more by the end of the season. Overall I enjoyed Preacher but not as much as I was hoping... However the last episode was easily the best because it gets things on track to be in line with the graphic novel. If nothing else I was happy they've taken a graphic novel, made a TV series out of it and not made it a monster of the week type show which is what they've done with Gotham, Flash, Green Arrow, Lucifer and Constantine and frankly what made them all quite boring to me.
August 4, 20169 yr So started watching Stranger things last night after reading on here how good it was. Wish I hadnt bothered it was terrible, no storyli....Nah, just kidding. Loving it so far, watched the first 2 episodes and had to drag myself of to bed or I would have finished the whole season.
August 4, 20169 yr Author Considering starting Billions Ray Donovan Ray Donovan is the best show on TV, it's amazing to me how under the radar it goes.
August 4, 20169 yr Just finished watching the second series of Peaky Blinders - really enjoying it (though I don't pretend to know what's going on half the time - how did Tommy get Arthur out of prison?) Looking forward to series 3. And added attraction of some great music in it too.

Looking forward to series 3. And added attraction of some great music in it too. Season three is the weakest of the series in my opinion. If you're struggling to follow some stuff now just wait until series 3... There was a lot of times I kept thinking "wait, what?" whilst watching it. Tom Hardy is a scene stealer in series 2 though, loved every scene he was in.

I just couldn't quite keep up with who was siding with whom at which point and why. So in the end I just accepted they all wanted to kill each other at different points!
August 4, 20169 yr Series 3 of Peaky Blinders is when I noticed how roughly 25% of the show is just shots of the gang walking down a street looking tough while a Nick Cave song plays in the background. It's still pretty a good series though.

August 4, 20169 yr I've always had the impression that the whole cast loves this aspect of it - it's like grown up cowboys and indians! I can see why you'd think that, I'd probably struggle to keep a straight face if it was me. I think those scenes are just an excuse for the director to shoe-horn some of his favourite songs in. I don't mind so much because I usually like their music choices, even though it generally doesn't fit in with the period setting.

Talking about not fitting in with the period setting, in episode 5 (when the London gang attack Arthur and co) one of the London gang puts a gun in Arthur’s hand to frame him for the shooting. Although I know that fingerprinting was around in the early 20th century, I wondered how well known it would be for a gang member to know to do that? I’m probably wrong, but it struck me at the time.
August 5, 20169 yr Ray Donovan is the best show on TV, it's amazing to me how under the radar it goes. It really is. I was hooked from the first couple of episodes. Not watched the current series yet, can't be arsed waiting weekly so throw them in Sonarr and watch when they're all done.

August 10, 20169 yr Finally got round to watching Stranger Things. Pretty much like watching ET, The Goodies and Little Shop of Horrors again and that is never a bad thing.
August 11, 20169 yr Finally got round to watching Stranger Things. Pretty much like watching ET, The Goodies and Little Shop of Horrors again and that is never a bad thing. It did release our inner child which I think was nice and quite unique in this day and age! :)
August 11, 20169 yr I've been re-watching old episodes of Space Ghost Coast to Coast on Kodi, what a bizarre and funny show that was.
