looks like a solid player, and quite unique in that he has vision, can score goals and good defensive qualities. i am dubious that he's 26 and still playing in Brazil though.

I was quite turned on to the idea until I came to this very same conclusion, mind you William was in Ukraine then Russia until just before his 25th birthday

He was good in the Copa America, but paying 16m for him it's too much this moment. We better loan him for a season if Jose really looking to sign him.

He's 26 if he was 19 I'd agree with you. This won't happen anyway he offers nothing we don't have already.

From. What I hear it's done and done. So he must offer something we don't have. Personaly never seen him play. Probably replacement for Mikel

Had a little look around youtube vid's etc. based on what I can find it shoudn't be a shock.

Looks a player very comfortable on the ball and playing in tight spaces but likes a tackle. apprently put the most miles in for chili in the Copa and thats in a high preshure style of game. We all admit that when fabregas isn't fit we look a little light. This guy probably offeres an alternative

I'm very skeptical of signing a 26-year old from the Brazilian league. Especially one who's 5'7 and is considered a ball winning midfielder.

Has the potential to be a disaster. Anyone remember Mineiro?

Anyone remember Mineiro?

If we're signing him it's to fill the Mineiro role, or the Maniche role, or the Jarosik role, or the Smarten role, or the ..

Squad filler, that's all he'll be.

Rumours that we've agreed a £15m deal.

Never heard of him.

Think it's based on this

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/11737804/Chelsea-transfer-news-and-rumours-Blues-agree-fee-for-Chile-international-Charles-Aranguiz.html

Chelsea are said to be close to signing Chile international Charles Aranguiz.

According to reports in South America, the Premier League champions have agreed a deal with his club Internacional.

Aranguiz rose to prominence earlier this summer for a number of stand-out performances at the Copa America - and made Chelsea move quickly for this services.

It is claimed that Chelsea held positive talks with the Brazilian club over the weekend, and that now a fee has been agreed for the midfielder.

Admittedly my knowledge of him doesn't really extend much further than the few games I saw of the Copa America (where he was good to be fair), but I am extremely wary of buying players based on good performances in international tournaments; it's quite often a poor reflection of how effective they would be at club level, especially when they (at 26) have no experience of European, let alone English, football. Another [potential] damning factor is that he is only 5'7, although Mascherano is living proof that this isn't necessarily an issue whatsoever.

Then again I'm sure our scouts have been watching him far more attentively than I did...

we signed willian after seeing him play in the ukranian league and he's someone a lot of fans praise, so i don't see a problem with this. from what i have seen of this guy, he looks a solid player with a bit of a bulldog type attitude on the pitch which is something we lack in physical games.

So he is either the next willian or the next cuadrado then? Lol

well i think we're safe considering he is a different kind of player being a centre mid, it's just the wide playing south american players who struggle here.

That's a lot of money for a player of unknown quality, we signed Matic for 5 mil more
