Chelsea vs. Swansea (PL) 08/08/15 KO 17:30 BST

Well I thought first half we looked in good shape with some nice play. But at the start of the second half Swansea were all over us. But credit to us for not loosing it with 10 players.

I do think that our two full backs looked suspect today. We still have time for transfers and I hope we strengthen.

Angry would be an understatement right now. With City next, I can't see us winning that.

I would rather decide how confident I feel about that match after seeing how city play in their game first. It's a bit presumptuous to expect us to lose against city.

Absolutely not.

I said before the game started and all well that we will struggle this season whilst others improve. Unless we address the obvious issues pronto, we could be at least 5/6 points behind after 4/5 games which is not good enough.

No argument there

Willian obviously made a mistake in playing him on, and Courtois in hindsight shouldn't have come out, particularly as Gomis couldn't hit a barn door up until that point, but I can't help but wonder why JT and Cahill were pushing on so high up the field. In the latter half of last season you would never have seen that, but I suppose these are the risks we run when we try to play a more expansive game.

But if, at 2-1, we revert to our style of play of the latter half of last season, that scenario never arises for me.

I'd have snatched your hand off for a point with 55 mins gone so I'm content with that really.

No complaints. Lack of spark was as we've seen recently and as most of us expected. And let's be honest, both our goals had an element of luck to them. We simply are not creating chances.

So long in the season to go but I'll be willing to bet we don't win the league by 8 points again! Don't like the look of some of the fixtures we've got coming up either.

I still blame our pre season setup and plans. Think it's been a royal f**k up.

One game. Wasnt the worst, looked the better side when we kicked into gear. Bit more sharpness, fitness and itll come better.  Mourinho HAS to bring in 2-3 more, he has to

Utter w**k........

Jose knows he's f**ked this season, but he doesn't care, as Roman has f**ked us over big time with the selling of Cech, Jose will be proved correct come May.

Roman Never learns............ Leave football to the ones in the know.

we lost today because of petr cech

you f**king imbecile lol turn ya pc off

I'm not usually part of the knee-jerker brigade but that was simply appalling from us. Very poor pre-season and now outplayed in the first game of the season at home. The red card killed the game and I accepted the draw as soon as the penalty went in as the best result we would get away with. But even before the red, we were very poor; two fortunate goals and almost no other chances created at all, if any.

If we couldn't beat City last season with Costa on fire and the side on a win streak, we most likely won't win there this time around. I would bite your hand off Suarez-style if you offered me a draw in that game right now.

Willian played Gomis onside and was nowhere to be found on the first goal either, leaving Ivanovic to defend two with Matic having to be pulled over.  Offensively, he wasn't very good either - he's got a proper engine in midfield and is much better in the middle of the park, but out wide he's not very good.

On the plus side, Begovic seemed comfortable.

William did nothing positively offensively on the pitch. Just terrible

To be honest, I didn't expect that performance. It was good. I expected bad performance and 1-0 or 2-1 but... Oliver is c**t. It's well known fact.

The biggest mistake was the lack of man to center the ball? Matic? Really? Jose shouldn't replace Willian, Oscar and Fabregas. One of them should stay on the pitch.

Fair result, they caused us trouble throughout and deserved their draw. Worrying how many times they got between our lines, a weeks training will put that right I'm sure. Tibo needs to learn to be more composed on the one on one's, Gomes still had a lot to do from there. He's young he'll learn. Some positive signs, even Falcao had a shot.

Courtois was completely stupid. Worst case scenario, a goal and 2-2. It would have taken a really good finish as he took it really wide and Cahill was covering and may have been able to block it. Wasn't a guaranteed goal but was a goal scoring opportunity.

Man it's the life out of me when the keeper decides to take the man out taking the red card leaving the team a man down. Idiotic.

It's so easy to say that now. Courtois made a decision in a split second in an intense match to prevent a Swansea player scoring a tap-in; if you honestly expected him to consider the consequences of a potential red and how it would effect the following 40 minutes in an instant, you have clearly never played in a football team.

I'm surprised by some comments on here. Having watched United earlier who were not much cop I thought up until the sending off and in particular in the first half we were fantastic on the ball. Played some great one touch stuff. Clearly we are still rusty but I suspect Josè thought we would have enough to overcome Swansea and be in better shape for city. On we go

We need to strengthen Sir, not sell our best players to title rivals, would you agree?

I'd agree if Cech was one of our best players and not our reserve goalkeeper.

Angry would be an understatement right now. With City next, I can't see us winning that.

they've had an even worse pre-season than us, if they dont win on monday would you still be saying the same thing or is this just a typical knee jerk, world about to explode reaction

Surprised by the positivity in here after that, Swansea are a great side but with the amount of chances they had they should have won that. We all laughed at City's defending against Stuttgart but that wasn't much better, they just weren't as clinical as they would have liked.

I'm very concerned with Ivanovic, I know Montero played very well but it just looks like his age has really caught up with him. If we sign Baba then Azpi has to be moved over to right back, and then go from there. Attacking wise the goals will come, the players just aren't as sharp and Swansea's defending was great

I'm not expecting a loss, maybe a draw.

I thought we'd struggle a bit second half with the decent tempo we played first half after the lay off and the iffy preseason, worries for me are that we have three relatively slow defenders out of the back four...somethig needs sorting out there.

I'd have like to have seen a couple of changes early second half as our tempo had dropped and I was surprised Jose didn't freshen things up.

Good to see Costa managed the ninety although I'd have liked to have seen him come off earlier as a precaution.

Hazard Willian and Oscar looking good which is nice but for me Fabregas is a worry, great on his day but not so much when our backs are to the wall.

Could easily have been worse, hopefully lessons learned and fitness levels upped.

This is not knee-jerk ingredients Swansea exposed Chelsea Achilles heel by the way Montero exposed Ivanovich at the back. Oscar was the positive today

The positives:

Costa did play the full 90.

We got a draw after going a man down.

Oscar looked great, which will be like a new signing if he can be consistent.

There's time left in the transfer window. Bring in a LB, Stones and a surprise addition somehow someway to give us the kick in the arse we need.

The negatives:

Ivanovic was hot garbage. I love the man, but he was woeful.

We have done nothing to strengthen the squad this summer, who didn't see a slow start coming?

We'll be thrilled with a point next week. Fully expect be down 5-6 points before September. The good news is there's time to hit our stride.
