I'd love to know what the reasoning was behind this signing. Glad he's gone on a permanent deal and not yet another loan, I have nothing against the guy but probably the most pointless signing in my 20 odd supporting years.

I hate when the club acts as a commodity trader but cannot upgrade the defense in 2 years nor find decent loan destinations to some of our prized prospects (Lewis Baker, Jeremie Boga, Natahaniel Chalobah, Tommy Kalas to mention a few).

It may have been a bluff to get a lower price.

Allardyce was keen on getting Yedlin permanently and made that clear before he took the England job. Moyes hasn't shown the same interest.
