Fallout 4

Featured Replies

Got Fallout today and spent a few hours playing. Seems like a decent game. The movement and combat isn't a sharp as MGS but looks like a decent shooter.

Just met the Minutemen and beat death claw. That's as far as I've got so not really had chance to explore or go deep into the game.

Never played Fallout before. Is it purely a shooter or can you drive/do other stuff?

Couldn't upload the picture properly yesterday, was trying to do it from my mobile.

Anyway, this is my main set of Power Armour which I got from the BoS.

Been upgrading my Armorer and Science perks to allow me to upgrade it, which is all now Set E type armour. The hot rod red colour is just because it looks cool.

I'm now rank 37 and looking to advance the Minutemen, Bos and Railroad quest lines before looking at the main quest

Have you gone further than Diamond City in the main quest?

Always struggling to have enough Aluminium to fix my armour

Adhesive is the one thing I'm always short on. Need it for bloody everything.

I'm only up to the point where I rescued people in Concord and sent them back to base...but I'm enjoying the game so far.

Problem is...I am struggling with controller combat. I tend to lose enemies when they get close to me, and just end up flailing wildly with melee weapons as I get attacked from unseen angles. It's pretty impressive actually.

On the bright side...I do love running around scrapping everything in my bases.

Just getting past it, I've found Valentine but gone no further and I only did that because I needed to do it to open up the Brotherhood of Steel quest line.

I've just been plugging away at side quests mainly. I'll talk to everyone at the settlements and ask if they have any work and do their random sh*t because it helps you discover more of the wasteland.

I've already got the achievement for discovering over 100 locations.

There's cool stuff off the edges of the map. I found you can actually ravel farther than that square box around the map

I've found a vault (think it was Vault 85) up on the edge of a map and I found the Radiating Coast (or something like that) by hugging the edges of the map.

I go for a casual wonder when I'm heading in the rough direction of objectives, I try to avoid using fast travel where possible because you never know what you're going to stumble across by just walking across the wasteland.

I found an abandoned shopping centre and ended up in a boxing match against a robot there after blagging my way in saying I was the supervisor they'd been waiting for.

If you lose track of enemies just go into VATS to find them.

Really struggling to get into this game, I can see that it's a well made game but it's just not gripping me.

I fee abit lost with it and I've only played a couple of hours. I've done the first side mission with the minute men and trying to make my way to Diamond City to do a a mission.

Any tips on what I should do to get myself into the game?

I am tempted to trade Fallout in, it's just not grabbing me. Just Cause comes out next week which looks quite good. Hopefully I just need a few hours. Fallout.

I walked past a fence that had blown down at work today and immediately thought "I'll scrap that, I need more wood" ha ha.....

Hehe. That's like recently when I was playing Metal Gear Solid 5 and on my way home from work I saw a small shipping container and my first thought was to run over and attach a Fulton recovery balloon.

finished it, not particularly happy with the ending i ended up with, i felt forced into it and then it made no difference to anything, and i wasn't even aware of one of the endings as an option

Gonna trade in Fallout for Just Cause on Monday. I can't get into it. Shame as i can see how people like it but it's just not taking my fancy.

Does anyone actually eat the food that you pick up around the place?

I find I only eat the food I craft...because the stuff you find heals very little, and often has a decent chunk of radiation...it seems counter intuitive to eat it.

I'm considering just dumping it all back at my base.

This might sound silly but one of the main reasons I know I will be buying this game soon is for the "build your own base/settlement thing" . Do people come and set up shop in your base as you develop it?

Settlers come, but you have to build things like places to sleep, crafting stations, shops, etc.. and assign people to them. Honestly, after the first few hours of building a settlement, it gets boring.
