Ian Wright in 'not having a clue' shocker

still MOTD does add a couple of interesting facts: we had 44 crosses (with no one playing a proper striking role either half) and they ran 10Km further than us. Those 2 stats tell you a lot. We're not playing the same game as most Premier League sides, we have a midfield of Latin strollers, everyone else is playing fast, furious and committed.  That shot of where Costa was standing as Willian's cross came in and was headed wide by Matic sums Costa up.

You mean, you're actually watching it ;)?!

The story on this match will be "Brave Bournemouth's historic victory" coloured by their post-match selfie in the dressing room Rocky Balboa style. So predictable ... the fact is that they were desperately luck, and so were Stoke when they beat us 1-0. It is what it is ... Ignore the pundits. They're revelling in our pain like everyone else ... it is an energy boost for them.

Chelsea is currently the gift that keeps on giving to all English football fans, present company excluded of course ;).

okay lets take a time out here,

Chelsea have won everything, I mean everything, we are still the prem defending champions albeit defending it poorly, it took Arse 10 years to win a trophy for ferks sake and and lost at West Brom last week, Liverpool have not won a league title for 28 years or so, Manu are a joke and plastic city lost to Stoke are clueless in the CL and look unlikely again to do anything this year in it.We will always be the first London club to win CL.

We are going through a shocking period of form that goes back to a very bad pre season and the appallingly handled 'doctor' incident when Jose had a melt down and we should have lost to Swansea...

Something went on, we don't know what but it's clear that its not been sorted out (we know he was upset over the Cech transfer) I fear Jose will be gone soon to be replaced by who, looks like Liverpool just made the signing of the season and Guardiola is on his way to plastic City at the end of the season, I hear Moyes is available though. :face_palm:

This season is a right off, Jose or who ever needs to rebuild if that means Costa Hazard Oscar etc are sold so be it get the cash and get players in who want to play for Chelsea.

At the moment I am in a weird way sort enjoying our predicament and the stick we get from others is only what we have given them for years and they know it's only a blip, a period of adjustment which is probably just what we needed but as sure as night follows day we will be back and they know it.

So I am taking this season off ready for the next and what will be will be, now calm down and get behind the club, the manager while he's here and every team he puts out and remember most are just passing through.

I am with you fella; great post.

It's clear why our forward players struggle so much every week. They train against our back 4 in the week and can't deal with the increase in quality that teams like AFC Bournemouth put out there

The big problem this season is Costa, his poor form is piling on the pressure to the rest of the team.

If Torres were to play as badly as Costa has this season the abuse would be relentless!

The choice for Jose & the board is do they stick with the current striking options or do they break the bank for a top class striker to solve this goal scoring crisis?

Also with regards to bringing through the younger players, unfortunately this really isn't the right time, it could seriously damage their careers.

Good post SP, it glosses over the poor form of players like Fabregas and Matic but I think with a top striker in form we would still be winning more games and putting the other teams under enough pressure to make it hard for them to exploit our weaknesses in the defensive midfield.

I honestly think the rest of the players that get in the team are playing reasonably well but having a blunt front man makes it easier to defend against the likes of Hazard, Pedro etc as they can pay less attention to the player who should be our main scorer.

You took the words right out of my mouth.  I don't think they have much of a choice at this point but to stick with what they have and try to find a decent striker during the January window.

As for bringing in the younger players, it would be a baptism of fire as you said. If we avoided relegation were indeed to get the Champions' League, then it could be a career move.  However, if we did miss the Champions' League spots or worse, were sent to the Championship, there go their careers.

Chelsea has no end game, when we get to the final 3rd there is no delivery to striker as there is no one there. We dont play as if we have a striker and football without a striker = no goals and of course this creates an effect in the whole team as they play feeding the ball through to nothing all the time.

Chelsea needs to invest in 3 serious strikers. We should rotate them so they all get a lot of play time and our game should focus on a full attack that culminates in getting the ball to the striker.

I thought we were playing well. The B's defended really well, however, our finishing department is still a works in progress and I feel it cost us.

This game will undoubtedly kill our confidence for the next few matches.

Our CL crucial match is up next and I feel despondent after this game.

Far too simplistic to just blame it all on Costa, mar bad as he's been...we have several players out of form not just one...hazard hasn't scored all season and made just a couple of assists...Fabregas is a liability, the defence can't keep clean sheets and concede sh*t goals...the formation has been found out by opponents and our squad is weak after a woeful summer recruitment...our top two signings are Pedro and baba and they have contributed fcuk all...only Willian can hold his head up high this season...says it all

If anyone is to blame it has to be Jose and the board, you cannot rest on your laurels, especially when your'e premier league champions, your'e everyone's cup final the following season.

The hunger needed to win a title was lost in the summer, players came back unfit and over weight, and yet still Jose and the board failed to seriously strengthen the team.

Break the bank, and raise the money by selling Costa, Remy, cesc and matic.

Don't know how much Jose had to do with not strengthening the squad over the Summer. Seems to me he wasn't happy with the way the Board went about its transfer business - and with good reason as it turns out.

So why have Remy and not play him. Why take on Falao and let him rot. We must have had reasons for buying them in the first place.

I can't answer it. I wanted Remy to start today. Whoever made the Falcao decision needs to be shot. Didn't they watch him at united last year?

Apparently terry and cahill told jose to sign falcao because of his movement. When united played chelsea they had a tough time marking him. Apparently
