March 2, 201610 yr We only moan when were winning,or drawing,or losing ffs.Gonna stop reading matchday threads as there are too many whinging nobs on here.Always looking for the negatives some people.Onwards and upwards!
March 2, 201610 yr How I wish we won at least 2 of all those draws after Guus took over... Yeah the 2-2 results against Brom and Watford should have been wins. Disappointing.
March 2, 201610 yr We only moan when were winning,or drawing,or losing ffs.Gonna stop reading matchday threads as there are too many whinging nobs on here.Always looking for the negatives some people.Onwards and upwards! I think that's a bit unfair. For some the result is all important and I can understand that. At this time last season, the result was all that mattered because we were going for the title so I get that there's people who just look at the result and go based on that. For others there's a longer-term view perhaps where they want to see us laying the groundwork for next season. There's also those who value the performance with an eye on how we'll perform in bigger matches later on. Thing is, none of this is particularly new or strange and it's just down to what people prioritise.
March 2, 201610 yr Strange game. Great start and decent first half but then the second half was totally different and got more and more uncomfortable as it went on. Could see them getting the equaliser and to be fair, they probably deserved it. When I was watching during that second half, we had too many players not willing to put in the effort and get out of first gear. Hazard, Willian and Costa, ALL looking uninterested. At least Fabregas was running about trying to make things happen but it was such a contrast to the first half where at times I thought we played some excellent stuff. Hazard does worry me. He looked good in the first half and some great link up play with Kenedy but he has completely lost his bottle in taking a defender on. He gets the ball and puts his foot on it and everything stops. As Scott Harris mentioned, Norwich had Redmond doing exactly what Hazard used to do for us - I just can't fathom it. The Norwich supporters around us were not happy with the ref. Obviously the Costa goal was offside and I'm not sure of the ruling on the pass back as it clipped Jerome, but WTF was Courtois doing in picking it up anyway? The locals were seething!!! 3 points is 3 points but I hope we don't see too many displays like that second half as we won't get past PSG or Everton playing like that.
March 2, 201610 yr First half was decent. A truly horrible second half performance with a lack of determination from too many players. I know we've got others comps to worry about but Some of the passing was abysmal. An away win though and up to 8th so will take that, but relied heavily on the fact Norwich have a donkey as a striker (sorry bit harsh but he sure doesn't know where the back of the net is). thought Gary Cahill had a good game and was so refreshing to see Kennedy and traore in first half play the way they did.

I was there too mate..I'm not sure Costa was disinterested, think he grew tired as he got through a lot of work leading the line on his own...again... Right to point out hazard, getting to the stage where I wouldn't be fussed if he's sold in the summer...can't believe I'm saying that, but he' continues to be one of our worst players...wouldn't mind if he actually tried to beat a man...but so often he's the one that slows our attacks down and then makes a square pass

We should have held back a sub and taken him off towards the end as he looked shot and in the second half really didn't cause the Norwich defence any problems. We really do seem to lack leaders on the pitch right now. As Ray Parlour sadi on TalkSport this morning when criticising Arsenal for the same thing, when he was playing and a team-mate wasn't putting it in, there would be a number of players who would get them to buck their ideas up - Parlour, Adams, Winterburn etc. Last night I saw a lack of effort (maybe tiredness) but we have no players now that can give them a bollocking. On Hazard, he is still decent - there were some great touches, nice one-twos and he played that exquisite through ball on a plate for Traore only for Traore to mess up but he's still far from the player he was. It's no wonder he hasn't scored goals from open play as he just isn't getting away from defenders. Puzzling, and as you say, we might be best to cash-in whilst we can.
March 2, 201610 yr Thought we played some decent football in the first half, but needed a killer in the final third to put them to the sword. We were our own worst enemy in the second half. Far too deep and not winning the ball back high enough. They went gun-ho and we didn't capitalise at all going forward. Reminded me of PSG away for 20 mins where we couldn't even muster a counterattack and when we did it lacked quality. I agree we lack leaders. When everything is going ok, like the 1st half, these players are comfortable. When the going gets tough you need someone to drag you through and get you up the pitch. We just got worse and worse.
March 2, 201610 yr I noticed Costa had a reinforced mask, possibly as he ran around without it for part of the last game. I wonder if he has medication, pain killers or antiinflammatories, and how that may affect him and others with facial injury.
March 2, 201610 yr Whose to say they weren't told to hold back a bit to save energy/injuries? It was obvious to everyone they took there foot off in the second half and none of the team or bench seemed to react to it apart from defensive subs. I'm sure even hiddink would have said something had it been down to laziness. I thought it was a good result and showed everyone what we have in kenedy and traore.
March 2, 201610 yr Was a little uncomfortable but we saved the energy and we got 3 points! I know it could have backfired but we were fortunate. Hopefully this winning run will last til the season is over!
March 2, 201610 yr Baba won't have been dropped because of that one mistake but also because of his worrying defence in pretty much every game he has played for us. Ivanovic has had many more nightmare games in the last 12 months at RB, but he's never dropped.
March 2, 201610 yr Yeah the 2-2 results against Brom and Watford should have been wins. Disappointing....and last night could easily have been a draw. Swings and roundabouts. P.S. Hope Norwich stay up, they showed great fighting spirit last night. Edited March 2, 201610 yr by EmeraldBlue
March 2, 201610 yr Ivan is the headmaster's pet Hence his untouchable status in team I dont think any player should (if out of form) be an untouchable, especially not him. His fault for their goal in my opinion, reacted way too slowly.

March 2, 201610 yr i noticed last night that we are also starting to get a little bit of the old lady luck come back our way
March 2, 201610 yr Great win yesterday , We had to battle it out in 2nd half but we manged the win. Nice to see new faces in starting line up. No complaints for Subs , Gus is our manager and still in process of understanding this squad and if he thinks those subs needed game time then be it. Damn Leicester didn't win yesterday but looking at results today point they had is much better than losing. I think we could be proven kingmaker again this year. My gut feel is that who wins title is in our hand looking at these final fixtures !!! Premier League Chelsea V Tottenham Mon 2 May 20:00 Premier League Chelsea V Leicester Sun 15 May 15:00
March 2, 201610 yr We were a mess in the second half no doubt, but I'm not that worried. I think that the players and management became complacent and took the win as inevitable. In fairness to them, there were not a small number of fans, myself included, that did the same. It seemed that the mentality out of the dressing room at halftime was that the win is in inevitable, don't need to focus on tactics, don't need to be careful. Then when Norwich scored, the players were like oh sh*t, need to get our act together. But by then they had already been unfocused for 25 minutes and had just had three subs introduced (with the assumption that it wouldn't matter if they faltered because the win was in the bag already). They couldn't get refocused and reorganized, add to that some panic, and you had a mess. The lesson to be learned was that you should never take a win as inevitable, and once you do, it's hard to get back on track. As long as they learned that lesson, I'm not so concerned.
