Generally I laugh off any insult directed at me for being Chelsea fan, mostly because it's true and sometimes you have to love who you are.. but the "no history" line, especially from Scousers, really grinds my gears

To be honest, i don't even understand where it comes from, i don't even think rival fans understand it either, they just use it to try and insult us. I mean, if we have no history, then can't the same be said for pretty much every other club ?

They are just seething we were the first club where a billionaire came in and splashed millions on us.

Now it seems it’s the norms for clubs with Everton joining the party recently, you won’t see anything labelled at them though.

I love it when they start all that chat though because then you bring up the FA Cups, European trophy and so on when there was no Roman and the morons have nothing left to say and leave in a rage.

I will never forget watching the Cup Winners Cup run, I watched the matches in the kitchen whilst my Mum was ironing. It was on this little portable TV I watched those games ha ha

Wouldn't change those memories for the world

He was actually out the team in the lead up to the final and on the bench had only just come on.

Right up there with my top Chelsea moments

Great moment, comes on and 30 seconds later, it's 1-0. Not a bad pass from Dennis though, I recently started to re-watch all of the season reviews from 89 onwards and lost count of the amount assists he got, must be near the top ten, still people think all he did was kick people.

To be fair I think when people make jokes about Chelsea having no history I think they are referring to pre 1996 or so as it was still a big club well known around europe in 1998. I recall seeing a cup winners cup game on tv in 1998 aged 6, Man United were the only soccer club I had heard about at that age.

these were my days at the bridge and the team never quite ticked when wisey was missing

la la la la Zoooola.

Dodgy groin, probably 50% fit, no problem, world class first time finish into the top corner. Watched it in the local with my best mate who is a Chelsea fan too.

As for the 'no history' thing, it's bollocks. We have been through it all, relegation, promotion (repeat a few times) near bankrupt, ground nearly whipped from under our feet by property developers, PLUS all those trophies, post and pre Roman. Pretty sure we still hold the record attendance for a game in London not played at Wembley too.

Compare that to a team like Everton, never relegated and a few league titles, which translates to 80% of their existence being middle of the road mundane sh*te. :-)

wisey was very much underrated.....far more skillful with the ball than he`s given credited for....when the foreigners started to come in the mid-nineties.....who kept his place?
